Puffenstuff didn't say that all gay men were camp. They were saying that you get quite a few gay men (but not exclusively gay men) with "camp" or effeminate voices and was wondering what contributes towards this...I think.

I think it's more due to non gender-conforming behaviour, which a lot children who eventually grow up to be gay display, such as playing with dolls or other girls for example. Due to spending time with other girls, and a lot of time with their mothers, they adopt speech patterns and habits that are usually more common of females when they are growing and developing, and as a result they retain these habits when they become adult males. I remember reading about it somewhere online a while ago. It's not a physical cause, more a social/behavioural one. It was very interesting actually.

It's one thing for a closet gay to deny the fact and try to play up a straight side (with some even making homophobic comments, which really is the pits) and quite another of gay men to decide to keep their private life private. And that's what Kevin Spacey does. I think he's a very good and versatile actor and he likes to keep his private life private. I have always assummed he was gay and thus faces the dilemma many gay actors face: not being chosen for certain roles because the studio don't think it will come off. Rubert Everett has the same hassle. He seems either to be offered sympathitic gay friend of the heroine or gay sympathetic friend of the heroine, which must be a real pain.

You can name names!

So you think Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder aren't but Steve McQueen Jnr might be?

If the latter is the case, it would be funny because James Mason's 20yo grandson James Duke Mason has been out to friend and family since he was 14 and JM Snr narrated the documentary about Steve McQueen called Man on the Edge.

They'd make quite a sexy couple actually!

It doesn't help that Everett has appalling plastic surgery and a limited acting range either though.

Kevin Spacey hardly counts, he's about as "secret" as Jodie Foster or Kelly Holmes.

Do we rule Jeremy Renner out now he's knocked up his ex?

That hasn't been confirmed. If it is true, the cynical response would be that they're just close friends who have come to...an arrangement.

Not sure of his sexuality but he is a gorgeous young man.

I just wish it was explicit photos of him, gay or straight, that had emerged and not his dad!
