Apparantly Ian Thorpe is to reveal he is gay in a TV interview to be broadcast later today. Even though he insisted in his book he was straight!

For a guy to vehemently deny that he is gay in his autobiography, then come out, it suggests he was under massive pressure to stay in the closet or he was unable to accept it

I'd say he was unable to accept it AND under massive pressure.
I came out at 15.... Even fourteen years later I struggle with the concept of being attracted to men over women.
But he's done it now and hopefully he's in a better place than he was.

Absolutely no surprise with Simon, I'm always amazed and shocked when I see someody suggests he actually likes women!
