I don't see it as being quite as seismic as Robbie does. I do think Strictly's dip this year hasn't been noticed because all eyes are on The X Factor. Both finals will be down on last year in my view.

Someone said DS's reports have gone down in quality. Quite easy to see why when everything else appears to have been ignored and outside factors.

Yes Ofcom looking into This Morning and Lord McAlpine suing the show. Well it was only a bit of paper!

hmm did I say it wasn't a big deal, I questioned how Ofcom could rule against ITV in light of similar incident regarding The Wright Stuff

Also whether they'd have any remit to punish BBC

I stand by calling the incident tacky, just not sure what rules where broken (when TM or Phil didn't accuse Lord McAlpine)

Losing 5m viewers is a big deal, a 0.5m different between two programmes isn't 'seismic' IMO

It's possible we're debating two different points here, but feel free to correct if I'm wrong

The 0.5m gap isn't seismic. The massive turnaround in fortunes in a short space of time leaving the distant second show in a comfortable lead, clearly is!

TXF has been hit by a Sunday night Strictly tsunami.

Great f1 ratings for BBC1 given the half midnight finish!

They should never have relinquished all that live coverage for such a paltry saving - especially when they pay 450k for 2 months work...

Sighs of relief at the Beeb that Vettel didn't wrap it up last night, and that they will see the Championship won live next weekend.

XF down over 2m on the same results show last series, and SCD is down over 1m on its Wembley special last year.

I'm a Celeb up about 900k on the same show last year.

all a consequence of the awful licence fee settlement from DMCS, which had no logical reason behind it

My fear is the Beeb will eventually decide that even the F1 coverage they've got isn't worth it and let it slink off to pay-tv.

I'm already resigned to autumn rugby internationals disappearing to Sky, according to a report/gossip column in yesterday's Rugby Paper

Getting over 9m from 8-10.30pm is impressive for ITV. BBC1 wrap up early evening on Sunday and ITV own the rest of it. It's a day of two halves.

Credit where credit is due. The fact that Iac rated better yesterday than the launch episode, against harder competition, shows that its viewers must be enjoyin this series a lot.

Good night for the BBC here, Strictly sweeping all before it (even with the much derided pre-recorded results) and Crickley Hall getting over 5 million against IAC (which is doing excellently) so they'll be chuffed. Otherwise, XF is stuck at 8.5 on saturdays and 9 on Sunday's and may even drop a little heading into the final. Obviously that's streets ahead of most things but it looks like it'll be lucky to break 10m which would have been unthinkable even earlier this year.
