The Secret Of Crickley Hall's press pack has been released http://t.co/D0ivqwop looks like it'll be taking The Paradise's slot, or perhaps Brazil's but would they want to put it against a drama (The Hour) on BBC2.

Last year BGT was moved forward because of the Diamond Jubilee and the disruption to the schedules across the week where it would usually air. Nothing to do with The Voice.

The figures were slightly down during the live shows (probably due to it being during term time and being on fairly late on a weeknight) so it will almost certainly move back to the end of May/start of June.
Well, that was the excuse given, but it was paper thin. It was evidently moved as a spoiler for The Voice. As the publicity and lead in boosted the ailing BGT, I suspect they will do the same again in 2013.

Do we have an actual Pride of Britain unaggregated rating? Something like 4.5m seems down on what it would usually get. Holly and Paradise held up very well.

Probably seeing something that isn't there... but is anyone else wondering if ITV1's Star Wars season is rather suspiciously well timed?

Maybe Lucasfilm put in a poilte request to get the films on TV. People have been talking about them on Twitter and DS quite a lot while they've been on - then suddenly Episode VII gets announced. Hmm.

They couldn't have just moved it like that as a spoiler for The Voice at the last minute as studio dates for the live shows etc were already booked and will have been booked months in advance. Cowell was actually filming auditions for X Factor USA during BGT's usual week which is another reason why they'll have moved it. Because of the way ITV's football schedule fell last May combined with the Jubilee meant that BGT had to move a few weeks earlier, whereas next year there are no such events in the way, so it may well return to its normal schedule.

Pride of Britain got 4.53m without +1.

I thought it seemed a bit low. Moving it to the Tuesday flopzone can't have helped.

Good job I'm here to ask the questions.

So, worst ratings in years, it actually tied with Holby not beat it, and was only 0.1m overnight viewers ahead of The Paradise - which I reckon may well beat it in the consolidated ratings anyway.

Sorry to rain on anyone's parade...

Isn't XF finishing before 10pm this Saturday? That should spark an improvement by a few 100k. It then depends if many people choose to stay inside on Bonfire night.

Regarding BGT, maybe it could start on 20th April and finish on 8th June, depending on how the half term holidays are mapped out next year. The ratings have yes been flat in the past three years, I think the final would have gotten a much higher rating this year if it was split into two shows, mainly because looking at the 5-minute breakdown that was posted at the time, it had over 13m at one point during the performances. The fact XF on Sunday had its lowest results show since 2008 should give ITV a kick up the backside. I don't know if they are making much use of the Surprise, Surprise lead-in, that seems to be getting decent ratings against Strictly.

Any news on what Wizards vs Aliens managed yesterday (it had 474k on Monday)?

And Cuckoo, less than impressive for the series finale. I would have expected near to 1m.

Looks like Pride of Britain was down a fair bit from recent years but I imagine ITV will be happy enough with it given how badly they normally do on Tuesdays. Looks like BBC1 took a bit of a denting with Holby and The Paradise both looking quite low last night. BBC 2 posted some good ratings however a very poor night for Channel 4 after 9pm. Rolf Harris doing well on Channel 5 is nice to see though.

Great rating for News at Six. ITV News at 6.30 performed well above average too as viewers flocked to bulletins to get the latest on Sandy.

The BBC should implement many of these changes for The Voice series 2 as others have suggested. They seem to work.

http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/10/31/th...ounds-ratings/

'The Voice' breaks battle rounds ratings curse

The Voice. Sure the singing competition show’s ratings are huge for those spinning-chair auditions, but once the series goes into the battle rounds, look out — those numbers drop like a rock.

Not this time.

The Voice has shown better retention of its audition-round ratings than previous cycles of the show. And last night, ratings went up for the second time this week. Yeah, The Voice is calling the current episodes “knockout rounds” but they’re basically a twist on the battle format — and all part of NBC and executive producer Mark Burnett’s plan to change the show this cycle specifically to reduce the number of viewers ditching once auditions ended (more coaching, knockout rounds, adding “the steal”).

Voice had 12.1 million and a 4.6 rating in the adult demo. That’s up 7 percent from last week and was the night’s top-rated show.

CBS’ lineup was up slightly, with NCIS (18.3 million, 3.4) and Vegas (16.1 million, 1.7) up 6 percent each, and NCIS: LA (10.7 million, 2.8) steady.

Comedies largely dropped. Fox’s New Girl (4.8 million, 2.3) led the bunch, but was down 15 percent. Mindy Project (3.2 million, 1.5) was down 21 percent from its last original episode three weeks ago. Raising Hope (4.1 million, 1.7) and Ben and Kate (3.1 million, 1.4) were unchanged. ABC’s Happy Endings (4.7 million, 1.4) was down 22 percent from last week’s return, and Don’t Trust the B— (3.4 million, 1.2) was down 29 percent. Also last night, Dancing With the Stars (11.8 million, 1.9) dipped 5 percent.

Iceberg seems high for BBC Two.

I'd like to propose a ban on all mentions of UK Voice and UK Talent until Strictly and Factor have finished their runs. Anyone want to second my proposal?

The Voice has completely transformed NBC around. They are currently #1 most popular network so far this season. I dont expect them to stay at #1 all season but it's much better than the 4th place theyre used to!

BGT isn't mentioned that much on here at this time of year anyways, but I second it

Here here.

It's rather tiresome having to read through lengthy posts about scheduling and other rubbish about talent shows, especially when some of those shows aren't even going to be on the air for months.

There are entire sub-forums where these things can be discussed at length, so why a ratings thread is hijacked for this purpose, who knows? People take these talent shows way too seriously.

Quite a few. But I'll still say it anyway!

What else is left to come out?

I thought it was a mistake to do two series a year but it's worked for NBC and the changes to The Voice format have worked too. There is a worry that NBC could yet burn the show out though.

Agreed unless there is major news about both, i don't see the point either. The changes to the US voice have already been mentioned here numerous times already.

Iceberg seems high for BBC Two.
It had a lead-in from Autumnwatch, plus a plug inside the programme from Chris Packham who featured on both and it was heavily trailed by the BBC.

Paradise rated quite low yesterday. It was doing okay against bad competition like Doc Martin and Mamma MIA repeats but with the first sign of decent competition yesterday apart from launch, its rating fell. Operation Iceberg on the other hand got a great rating.
That's the curse of the confirmed recommission for you.

As for Saturdays, Prize Island has 6 episodes, Saturday Night Takeaway has 7 episodes and Take Me Out will presumably have 10 episodes like the current series. Not sure how many Splash episodes there will be or even when it'll air, although I assume it'll be fairly soon. I'm guessing Prize Island will run in January/February at about 7pm with Takeaway taking over the slot from mid-February. Take Me Out and Jonathan Ross could run alongside them in the 8pm and 9pm hours respectively, and then maybe Splash could take over from TMO in March and air with a Takeaway lead-in. I can't see it running for that many weeks so I guess they'll squeeze it in OK. Off Their Rockers could run at about 6:30pm in Feb/March too, with BGT and My Man Can then airing in April/May (I think BGT will revert to starting in mid-April with the live shows in half term week next year).
I can't see Splash being more than eight episodes, if that. As for when - well we don't know how involved Tom Daley will be (could just be a pre-series training VT, could be weekly), but usually the World Diving Series takes place March to May (4 or 5 events) then he's got the World Champs in the Summer, so a very limited window if he's involved in weekly shows, and you wouldn't think he'd want to be too sidetracked by it.

I can't see it airing in January either - would be a bit odd to have celebs in swimwear on Saturdays then on Ice on Sundays.

One episode made the consolidated top 10 for 5* in the week ending 21 October. The Tuesday's 7pm showing had 192,000 exc +1.

Body of Proof on C5 also took a tumble, registering a series low 911k (3.8%). A further 102k watched at 10pm.
Shame. Hopefully just a one-off impact from the Pride of Britain awards.

Inevitable from the moment that Panorama cleared 5m at 10.35pm that ITV would exercise the opportunity to make some money out of this.

Will we learn anything new, or will it just be a padded out revised primetime repeat of the original late night Exposure?
