Newsnight may get extra viewers tonight. Depends on what the BBC choose as their main story.

Why isn't this on BBC1?
Because BBC Two commissioned it?

Seeing as you mention F1, hopefully Practice may find itself on BBC Two given that session 1 for the European rounds takes place at a time when CBBC would have been on.

Also, maybe Wimbledon straight through on BBC One and BBC Two from 13:45 to 18:00 next year.
F1 Practice is just that though. Actually considering F1 are now flogging the practice sessions you'd think they'd do a bit of rebranding - "Time Trials" or something.

As for Wimbledon - you'd hope it would continue in the slot, especially with the axing of the red button streams, but recent history suggests the BBC will just fill the slots with other filler as they did this year (possibly for Wimbledon)

So The X Factor is ending next year? I will wait for an official announcement but Sinitta says it's done.

http://www.entertainmentwise.com/new...-Ever-X-Factor
Since when has Sinitta ever known anything. Heck, if ratings continue to fall as they have this year in five years time she might get a place on the panel. I think as long as the US version is in doubt ITV will keep going with the UK version knowing they have the return of Simon to look forward to at some point.

The US version is just awful IMO - having no host at all especially during the boot camp and judges house stage just didn't work (wasn't so much an issue in auditions), and though Kardashian wasn't quite the car crash I was expecting I don't see what Mario and her bring that Steve Jones didn't. The US set looks awful too - you'd think it would be an improved version of ours, but it just looks like a cheap garish rehash.

I'm pretty sure the DQF documents said BBC2 would have live sport whenever available and appropriate. I can't see any of the "general repeat content" planned for the channel being deemed of greater importance than Wimbledon.

I think D.M.N.'s suggestion is highly likely - ie Wimbledon will run all day on BBC 2 (11.30pm to 8pm) and 1.45pm to 6pm on BBC1.

(BBC2 subject to PMQs).

Do you think ITV have made a mistake AGAIN scheduling XF on Saturday at 20:20?

I think they should have pulled it back by five minutes as Strictly is only running to 8.15pm this week; that way they could have it done and dusted by 10pm - not that five minutes after then will make too much difference either way.

But I think keeping clear of Strictly is the only sensible option. What I'm surprised at is the BBC One is cutting back on the finish time of Strictly as the show gets shorter. I thought they'd be pushing it later, aiming to finish it at 8.20pm every week.

So, The Inbetweeners Movie is premiering next week against ok-ish opposition.

Predictions?
Series 3 was watched by approx. 3m viewers and the movie was a smash hit, so I think it will definitely break 3m, probably around 3.6 million?

What do you lot think?

Inbetweeners Movie could get 4million viewers including C4+1 viewers. The movie is Britains highest grossing comedy of all time so there will be lots of interest.

Digiguide has updated, Crickley Hall is on Sunday and Last Tango in Halifax is on Tuesday, wasn't expecting that, if it sticks how are they going to work Halifax round Christmas.

Probably more. I'd say near 5m.

So did I, Strictly Wembley is an hour and a half but is currently still at 6.30 on digiguide. I thought they would move it to 7, unless they're waiting to the last minute to surprise ITV. Keeping it early will cost them, it hasn't been hitting 10m until 7.30.

Not sure what Wednesdays has lined up - so they might be able to air the final episode there in the week before Christmas.

I just checked the rating for BBC1 Scotland on Wednesday 9-10pm, the Scottish football averaged 399k (21.3%) which is about the same as what Michael Palin averaged in that slot last week. It also rated higher than what Watchdog rated in the 8pm slot last week, so it didn't have a negative impact on the overall BBC1 figures.
Interesting to get the regional figures, thanks. So in fact, far from dragging Palin down as I thought, the football opt-out dragged him up slightly (the BBC One 9pm slot achieved 18.2% across the UK but about 17.9% in the nations which aired Brazil - England, Wales and Northern Ireland.) This may be partly due to the English football on Sky Sports taking some of Palin's viewers in England, but BBC One holding its share in Scotland with football of more interest locally.

In Scotland Brazil was shown on BBC Two at 9pm: rzt, do you have the figure for that in Scotland, so we can compare it with the pan-UK BBC Two rating for 9-10pm of 1.54m/6.7%, ascribed in the media wholly to How Safe are Britain's Roads?. How Safe...? was shunted to 23:20 in Scotland.

I suppose this means that in the consolidated figures Brazil will only have 3.761m viewers (in Eng/Wal/NI), plus whatever timeshift it can gather by next Wednesday.

I wonder why it's in such a random slot, although I suppose it's the best slot as it'd be up against I'm a Celeb for the next 3 weeks after that.

Is anyone still interested in X Factor talk, it seems to be ongoing all day every day in this thread lately and not just at weekends. Surely every possible angle and opinion has already been covered many times?

A documentary about humanity's engineering marvels called Supersized Earth airs at 9pm on Wednesday 21 November, in a thankless slot up against Corrie and I'm a Celeb. It's 3 x 60', so presumably three weeks in the same slot, ending on 5 December. No idea what comes after that; I think you're right about Tango finishing on Wednesday 19 December - it seems neat.

Scheduling is perfect in the run up to Xmas but not close enough that it's going to be taken on by anything of note.

It should win the slot with ease. 5m possible, 4m+ nailed on.

1st week
Mon/Thur/Fri 9pm hour
Tue Football
Wed 8:30pm 90 mins

No Changes to established programmes

2nd week
Mon/Tue 9pm hour
Wed Football
Thur 8:30pm 90 mins
Fri 9pm 90 mins

This meant Corrie was moved to 8pm with ED moved to 7:30pm on Thursday and News at Ten moved to 10:30pm on Friday. The soap change obviously won't be a problem this year
Not sure if anyone has posted these yet, but here are the first two weeks of I'm a Celebrity's scheduling in 2012:

Spoiler

Corrie airs Thursday 15th at 8pm (displaced by the football from the Wednesday) and on Wednesday 21st for one hour from 7.30pm (is this to make up for the missing episode mentioned earlier?)

Emmerdale has an hour-long ep on Thursday 15th at 7pm.

Weather forecast for tomorrow night is dry. Perfect for fireworks displays. X factor to drop below 8n including +1, I predict.

3.44m for The Chase, is that yet another high? I can't keep up. Terrific rating anyhow.

The way in which it's pulled well clear of Pointless has been most impressive.
I think that is a record high. Can anyone confirm? The Chase has turned into a ratings beast. It is a really good show and if I didn't have a job I'd probs watch it most days.

BBC1 has thrown in the towel and will schedule the final part of Halifax against Downton on Christmas Day.

(Unless Halifax becomes the biggest new British drama of the 21st Century)

Thanks to: http://www.thefa.com/England/Fixtures

SWEDEN VS ENGLAND - INTERNATIONAL
Wednesday, 14/11/2012 - Kick off 19:30 GMT at Swedbank Arena, Stockholm

Note the 19:30 kick off time instead of the usual 20:00 time. As thus, the ITV schedule is...

18:45 - Emmerdale
19:15 - Live International Football
21:45 - ITV News
22:20 - Exposure
The latest update on Digiguide has football highlights instead of Exposure, which misses a week.
