Thanks D.M.N for posting these. EastEnders' share seems quite low, it's usually above 35%. The rating for last night I was particularly interested to know about was for Cuckoo, I can't seem to find that in the links that you posted.

Hasn't really turned out to be Downton in a shop - though on that them ITV have commissioned Murder on the Home Front - a two-part crime series - from the makers of Downton - so effectively the Downton Detectives.

You never know, but like with most things on C4 lately that doesn't seem the right slot for it. I'd have liked to have seen it premiere on E4 too really.

C4 has a wider audience IMO being a terrestrial. I think 10pm may be too late for a movie premiere.

Hollyoaks starting to turn a corner (finally) Hopefully this upcoming stunt will pull in old viewers and seemingly from the latest spoilers a lot of the cast not viewed in the best light are getting dropped.

New Tricks seems to rate better in the Summer than it does in the Autumn. It's got an Autumn slot this year because BBC1 had a packed Summer with the Jubilee, European Football and the Olympics. Next year is considerably quieter for them, and as the new series starts filming next month, I'm predicting that next year's series will screen in the Summer. So no clash with Doc Martin and they'll both be able to have the Monday slot.

odd if he returned, and he didnt do it.

anyways moving away from EastEnders

On the BBC, The Paradise is not exactly a big hit, it may get a second season, but its going to need that season to be a break out, for it to go anywhere.

On ITV, see Football was on, did good.

On C4 - The Simpsons looking ok, expecting some new episodes soon. Hollyoaks being above 1 million is promising.

Rolf's Animal Clinic: did well on C5, they will be hoping that will increase with word of mouth.

Elementary: looks good, considering what it is”

lol

Nice looking guy as Mr French is, i'd rather be accused of stalking Jenna Louise Coleman as i had her presence on my train a few times.

The final story of DCI Banks is going out on consecutive nights on Wed 7 & Thurs 8 November to clear the decks for I'm A Celeb.

I'm A Celeb Millionaire Special 9pm on Friday 9 November, and I'm guessing the series starts on Sunday 11 November.

I'll be interested to see how they schedule Take Me Out, X Factor & I'm A Celeb into Saturday night. XF will need to avoid a substantial SCD clash, but not too late for I'm A Celeb.

They should be able to cut The X Factor down to 90 minutes by then as they'll be at most 8 contestants (could cut it to seven if they do a double elimination before hand). My guess would be TMO at 7pm, TXF at 8.15pm and IAC at 9.45pm, where I think it's played before. Take Me Out could probably be edited down to an hour too - especially as with both The X Factor and I'm a Celeb following it'll have minimal ads.

I was looking on www.Barb.co.uk and in 2007, Strictly Come Dancing fit 12 contestants in 90minutes. This Saturday Strictly will have 12 contestants in 110 minutes. I was wondering where does this extra 20minutes come from? Will there be guest performers?

Not turning into a vintage Champions League season for ITV/Sky. It's fair to say the British teams are having a collective shocker, with City currently losing 3-1 away at Ajax and Arsenal losing 1-0 at home to Schalke.

United won yesterday but they are leaking goals all over the shop, and Chelsea aren't looking too hot either.

Man Utd have all but qualified for knockout stages, Arsenal even if they lose today still look in a strong position to go through. Chelsea are still 2nd in their group so should make it to knockout stages but are less likely to do so than Arsenal. Man City's chances look grim and Europa League football beckons but their next few matches will matter so much in the CL that those matches should get good ratings. Fortunately for Sky and Itv, Celtic are doing quite well so far and might just scrape into the knockout stages to make it 4 British teams into the knockout round. I think at worst three British teams will still qualify for knockout stages which would be better than last season when just 2 made it through.

Strictly and X Factor don't need to be as long as they are. Padding is certainly going on. TXF has no business being 2 hours and 20 minutes, likewise Take Me Out should be an hour. SCD and TXF could both be on between 7-10pm as 90 minute shows with no overlap.

I think Strictly's as long as it is because Bruce is getting slower as he gets older. Even with a 2 hour show they still couldn't fit in comments from all the judges for all the acts due to him rabbiting on

(But yes, the show can easily be made shorter if they cut down on the extended VTs before each contestant dances, and reduced the waffle after the dance)

Has anything been reported for Body of Proof or Highland Emergency on C5 last night? Animal Clinic did very well for them at 8pm

An improvement maybe but I still don't fancy any of them to go much further based on the performances we've seen. Arsenal in particular look very poor all of a sudden. And United defensively are just a horror show.

Don't expect City to take the Europa League seriously either. They were a disgrace in that last season.

cant help but feel that if analysis of EastEnders is considered off topic, they so should the analysis of failing football teams.

Pretty hard to like a team, that think its too good for a second tier cup, when it failed to qualify for the 1st tier cup.

Nope, can't find either of those anywhere.

Attentional used to report most new series in their blog, but since they've changed the format and switched mostly to Twitter they haven't been particularly useful on that front and today was no exception with precisely no tweets relevant to UK ratings this morning.

DS, MG and ITV Media also decided not to bother updating the ratings so a very very quiet day.

Padding really is the curse of TV.

Will be fascinating to see what Michael Palin's enjoyable romp around Brazil gets in the morning. It could just as easily get 4m as 7m. I'm sure it was made with Sunday at 9pm in mind, and I think the midweek slot will hit it like it has The Paradise. Also WDYTYA was only getting high 4s/5m in the same slot. The Around the World 20 years on doc only got 4m in 2008.

But it's Palin, and undoubtedly one of the programmes we were all looking forward to in 2012.

Ouch. That hurt. To be frank, staying 100% on topic can be a bit of a chore when we have next to no ratings to talk about.

For the record, I haven't criticised anyone for being off topic. This thread often strays, and I'm as guilty of it as the next man. As long as there is some ratings link (however tenuous it might be) then what's the harm?

Pointless singling anyone out. Mods would have to delete roughly 1 in 3 posts made in order to filter out anything not fully on topic. And what would we be left with? An even more cold and clinical thread than we already have.

it was not mean to be specifically about you, just a general comment, your post happened to be the most recent example.
