I thought both Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor aired their strongest shows of the respective series on Saturday night. I'm hoping for series high...for Strictly it's possible but I'm not holding my breath with The X Factor. It's a shame, I feel it's starting to find it's feet now but it's a case of too little too late.

Agree, I actually managed to watch a full episode of X Factor this year. I did forward through most of Rylan though, hes got the personality of a dead fly so am not sure why they thing a big dance act will make up for his awfulness. He adds nothing to the act thats made up for him.
Mind you Nicole is ****ing dreadful! Half up herself and then half fake. What the hell is she doing?
Strictly had a 'decent' night, but once again Tess is just shown as needing the boot. You could tell the producers gave the judges/Tess less time and game Claudia more backstage time tonight. Her and Brucie would be amaze and she'd be a better replacement eventually too.

Increases for both X Factor and Strictly, although I still can't believe one is two million viewers ahead of the other, a complete role reversal on a few years ago.

Isn't The X Factor just back to the levels it was prior to Halloween/Bonfire weekends? It's that 8.4m plateau. Ratings were back up due to not competing with people going out for Halloween or fireworks displays rather than One Direction who added nothing to the rating.
Strictly was up and finally got over 10m. I was wondering if the pre 7pm start was hindering this.

Given the large amount of people left in, it was probably the most accomplished set of dances Iv seen on Strictly-everyone did well.
Strictly is maintaining its excellent levels of previous two years, something has been lost for X Factor though that is not to say that a revamp would not bring back the missing millions-and historically there is more ratings scope with X Factor.

Im not sure I agree about Tess. The reason the show flowed was because of the lack of Bruces terrible jokes.Not that I want Bruce to go before he wants to, but the show was more slick last night.
I would have expected it to be nearer to 10m (on peak) but it's up about 800k on last week.
The sixth live show last year had a series high at this point mainly because of all the drama of bringing Amelia back and the BT power cut.
It should easily average 9m tonight, I doubt the likes of Ed Sheeran and Little Mix will boost it much but I'm still hoping for a rating that will make us all go

Sorry, but no X Factor rating any more will make us go 'eek', so there is no point even remotely saying that. 10 million/12 million is not 'eek' worthy, only 14 million and 16 million of 2 years ago was 'eek' worthy.

I expect the xfactor ratings for the last few weeks are making them go
Great for Strictly. XF ended 5 minutes early so was probably more like 8.6m when tapechecked. Not great but better than last week I suppose.

Agreed I think they both did brilliantly and I very much doubt many were wishing that Bruce was there.

I missed Bruce but thought Claudia was brilliant and Tess as capable as ever. It proved the show would survive without him.

I hardly think trusting the BBC to run a dance show is the same as the public trusting them to run serious investigative broadcast journalism.

Tess is the week link. when Bruce goes Claudia need's to do tess's job and another lead man come in. Tess is solid but just not that brilliant. Claudia last night may have juts got her self a promotion in my opinion. Great to see 10m at last.

It's up on last week, but it's on the same levels as the third and fourth live shows.
Will BGT possibly beat XF in series average for the first time this year?
I think Claudia should have been promoted a long time ago on to the main show, she is naturally funny. Combine her with a comedy male co host rather than Tess, she was capable but that's about all. Both Bruce and Tess should go. I think Steve Jones would present well with Claudia. Or alan carr, Graham Norton

I love her on Hot Gossip on Radio 2, the grown up Celebrity Juice.
As for Brucie's replacement, Brian Conley would be a good bet. Especially if he gets exposure from IAC.
