It doesn't. I predicted between 10.5 million and 11.0 million. The rating was 10.6 million, which was and I quote my own post "at the lower end of that."

Is there something I'm missing? Not once have I called I'm a Celebrity's rating poor.

Also "it's the same people making the same jabs at the same shows on the same networks, lacking a wider perspective in any way, shape or form" - I hope that, again, was not directed at me, because I'd like to think I'm one of the more objectional posters on here who doesn't think X Factor will magically rise, or who asks for a random BGT peak for no actual reason, or who thinks we're still in 2009....

I can just about tolerate Robbie (whom I have no doubt will remark on the y-o-y decline as if it really is a disaster) but it's a bit silly when people try to make that rating look poor. It's easy to forget the last few launches will inevitably have been inflated by an incredibly strong X Factor lead-in - the fact IAC is still managing those kinds of figures after ten years on air and without the kind of lead-in it's had in very recent years is a massive testament to its enduring popularity. For a show like that to still be launching with over 10 million viewers is simply fantastic.

I agree. My only hope that Neighbours returns to TEN to be exposed to a wider audience. It jus doesn't sult being on Eleven.


I agree. I like the idea of of a first look for Neighbours. I remember the uproar on www.neighboursfans.com/ when Neighbours moved to a multi-channel but would love this idea and the steph to bring back a raft of returnees and a new fmaily relating to the Lou Carpenter.

Where??Who are these people who said it was a poor rating. Since the ratings have been posted not one person said it was a poor rating. SamuelW pointed out it was down on last year but he didn't say it was a poor rating he actually spent most of his post talking about The X factor.

Marr rose to a series high, which shows how the demographics between DA and IAC differ.

Am I missing something - according to DS IAC launched with 10.2m not "nearly 11m" (we don't automatically include +1 because discussion of ratings is largely based around time slots, not to mention the fact the BBC don't have +1 channels so it's an unfair comparison), 10.2m is still a great figure though albeit over 1m down on last year's launch.

It's TXF that is doing really poorly, Hardly surprising to see the ITV woman add in the +1s to boost it above 9m but pitiful really, this isn't a dip darlings it's the bottom falling out. GeorgeS is being talked down off a roof as we speak.

To see someone remark upon the "same old faces" criticising ITV shows when earlier this year they were doing the same for EastEnders is quite ironic really. My motto is if you can give it you can take it.

...which as far as I'm concerned shows a pretty obvious agenda. It's very easy to pick up on the y-o-y decline even though everyone was anticipating it. IMO if the only comment you're going to make about that rating is that it's down and 'all of ITV's big reality shows are in decline' then there's an agenda.

Any kind of credit is given through gritted teeth. I find it hilarious that people actually think this thread is biased towards ITV.

What nobody here has been critical of IAC ratings infact most have been hoping TXF decline doesn't effect IAC. So to come out and say everyones saying its poor is a lie, infact the only posts mentioning "poor" are coming from James himself

Oooops! I just saw that I did. Wrong quote, I apologise. I was referring directly and always to Samuel's post, despite somehow quoting you and Charnham.

I was referring to one post. I don't believe I claimed 'everyones saying its poor'. My 'people' reference was a figure of speech, but it was in reference to Samuel's post.

The decision taken two years ago to move Neighbours in its then state to Eleven, was the right decision. Susan Bower took it to the brink and Ten weren't prepeared to get rid of her (perhaps because they wanted rid of Neighbours). Its only purpose was to serve a UK audience.

However times change, Ten's news revolution was a disaster, the Project has done ok pre 7pm but is down on what it used to be and has been used as a plug gap this year to fill a difficult hole. In fact Ten as a whole is much different to how it was two years ago, there is no content worth watching (maybe the odd exception but I can only think of three shows this year I have watched on Ten, one of which is axed, one which I think may get a quiet recommission, and another one which is an import). Ten needs Neighbours, showing repeats of the simpsons at 6pm is not the answer, and is much more of a backward step. Modern family repeats at 7pm every night, is the sort of thing Eleven should do, not Ten (though Nine are much worse with TBBT).

And now Ten's only bright spot is attacked. The 5pm news bulletins appear too all be losing one host, with people who have 20 years+ experience losing their jobs. The 5pm news is often their highest rated show of a night, why the hell mess with it. Thankfully for them Deal is waning on Seven and even Hot Seat is starting to become too much. I actually hope that Seven ditch Deal (or move it to 5pm) and look at acquiring The Chase. A nice simple, intelligent show at 5.30pm without a host dominating it, would be a welcome change. Kudos to ITV for not dumbing down. (In fact wasn't The Chase originally a Two week pilot along with The Fuse? I seem to remeber a question on the fuse being something like What day of the week is Easter Sunday? It wasn't quite that question but the answer was in the question and glaringly obvious. Thank God they chose to go with The Chase)

Clearly though, that is a great figure for Celeb. It's not my sort of thing but in a terrible year for ITV at least one ageing lowbrow cheapo war horse is putting some money in the kitty.

I wonder if they might need to extend it's run or do two a year with TXF, DOI and BGT all failing to perform and reaching the end of their useful lives?
