hardly. apart from conveniently glossing over the fact that these acts along with other non winners have proved that there is chart success beyond the programme, which can only be a good thing for the show. the two acts you mentioned are in joint deals with other labels within sony. so not so much pet projects designed to stroke cowell`s ego, considering that other outlets within sony recognised their commercial potential.

Yeah but Olly and 1D have been the most successful of their series, so they should've won and I'd hardly call them talentless, having the best voice isn't everything.

I'm not a fan of any of the winners, so this is mostly based on how good I though they were during the series, I guess.
1. Leona Lewis - Her voice was always good
2. Matt Cardle - I know he isn't popular on here, but I felt he was talented and won in a year where they really didn't want him to win, so overcame a lot
3. Alexandra Burke - Not a fan, but she had some really good performances and won in a competitive year
4. Shayne Ward - Can't remember him that well but remember he was a good performer, and is kinf of here by default!
5. Steve Brookstein - I always felt sorry for Steve. He gets so much stick, but I felt he had worked hard as a musician and deserved a break. Can't really remember the series much now though! In some ways, be attracted the abuse because he obviously had a problem with the show so probably shouldn't have gone on it in the first place, but I have picked him for the reasons above.
6. Joe McElderry - A sweet boy but I wasn't ever wowed by him, unfortunately
7. Leon Jackson - He seemed like a lovely person but his voice wasn't my style and he probably got most of his votes for being cute (not that that's his fault)
8. Little Mix - the "chosen" act in a crap year. Relied entirely on the producer's help to win. I'm sure they will be successful but in terms of the show, I thought they were awful, contrived and completely pimped for the win.
