Why? - as I said it's EXTREMELY unlikely, and in the event it did happen is more likely to come from outside sources than inside ones.

There were a few problems with Sky HD boxes and radiated interference, which you could cure by using satellite cable to make fly leads - but that only applied to analogue TV anyway, DTT should be immune to it.

Got a replacement 42E5B and the lip sync problem is still there, not just HD channels but SD, blu-ray and DLNA. It is driving me absolutely mad!! Must be a setting somewhere, can't imagine they could sell a set like this

Just had a look at 2 in shop running ver 1.261 no lip sync issues .

Perhaps you can tell us what software your running & if you have your tv connected to the internet to get firmware updates ??

Somehow I've managed to get version 1.263 even though it isn't meant to be for this TV! And yes, it was downloaded by the TV via the internet

I'm still on 1.261, which seems to be the latest for my ET5B. I got that from the internet as an update.

I'd be surprised if they do any OTA updates for internet connectible TVs.

I've had 2 sets - both have the problems.

Thankfully it doesn't replicate on DVDs / blu rays / Sky so I'm putting up with it as I don't use freeview - but not exactly great is it...

Hang on a mo , how did you get that number of firmware as the latest on the Panasonic download site is in 1.261 . And that was only to improve the browser .
