I don't remember Derek being told or finding out for himself that Dennis was murdered.

The writing on EE keeps on getting worse the storylines never have a ending to them, even Derek and Tyler bounding storyline has disappeared somewhere that lasted only two episodes then completely forgotten.

You're about two weeks behind the rest of the forum.

You just have to assume it happened offscreen. Some things do.

I guess it is just one of those things that are public knowledge.

Like: Hey, who's that blonde lady at Jack's house? O that's Sharon and her little boy. The kid's father was murdered right here on the Vic's doorstep before poor Denny was even born, can you believe it? They have no clue who did it either, ain't that a tragedy?

That would be my response anyway.

EE has a track record of this other soaps don't do it. The writing is that poor nobody knows what's going on half the time where's the consistency?

They didn't let us know he knew because when he did reveal it, it was more shocking to the viewer. I'm not sure that came across though... (because of spoilers)

Do you actually have anything to back up these points rather than just firing random put-downs?

Other soaps are just as guilty of dropping plot-points and leaving things off-screen. The much-mentioned Ryan/Michelle/Alex plot from Corrie was far bigger than the EE examples you list but the writers just wiped that one from history thinking that we'll all bow down and accept it. It might not have been a great plot but the least they can do is remember it's embedded in the show's history, especially with the current story running.

Totally disagree. I don't see anybody not knowing what's going on and I'd say Eastenders is no worse than the other soaps for consistency.

Somebody told somebody who told somebody who told somebody who told Derek. It's not difficult to work out.

Dot is their stepmother and she loved Dennis.
Murders are not national secrets and if Derek knows gangsters it would not surprise me if he knew about one of the biggest gangsters (Johnny) and who his victims were he confessed too. It is not impossible.
Jack clearly did a check on Sharon but thats not how Derek found out.

When Johnny confessed it was made public knowledge. The square has a long memory...

I thought it was common knowledge that Danny Moon killed him? Or was that found out and dealt with Mitchell style before anyone else found out?
