Was thinking...If they get told to coem on to the scene wearing a certain t shirt, certain jeans blah blah blah....Does the detail go right down to socks? Like do they go "Nahhh sorry Jo Joyner, can you go and put some socks on please? Nobody will notice whether you do or don't have socks on but put them on anyway"

Or like if somebody shows up with a different pair of studs in their ears would they go "OOOO Sorry, that character wears star shaped studs, not heart shaped ones"?

Dunno why I wondered that but hey...I'm umemployed atm...

Nothing to do with your thread but I've always wondered what the extras talk about? You know when you see em in the background chatting away?

I assume they must do, as whitney wears hoop earrings, lauren seems to wear studs and tanya hardly ever wears socks....

Clothing has to to be checked before anything can be filmed. Only clothing that can be seen though, so socks wouldnt matter if you had trousers on, but it would if you they were wearing skirts or shorts.

Half the reason is that even in a soap, some degree of accuracy has to be kept. Bianca going around complaining of being poor whilst wearing designer clothes wont cut it.

The other part is branding. Some brands will pay to have their clothes shown more (this doesn't apply to the BBC soaps though), but of course the BBC does the other way round and must make sure nothing is being pushed. its why EE often seems to have brandless or a made up brand (they will make up designs in order to not appear to advertise). Also, with a lot of people wearing T-Shirts with stupid crap all over them, they have to avoid any problems with that one. Notice Tyrone wearing a weird WAKA tee in CS all the time. But of course some are offensive, or out of character (imagine someone like Michael Moon wearing a football shirt and trackie bottoms. He may wear that in his real life, but he has to change for the show)

Nikhill had an Adidas running jacket on last night with a bit of tape stuck over the Adidas logo.

Andy wears John Deere overalls, without the John Deere logo (although I think they used to have the logo on them).

What really annoys me is how in Emmerdale they make Rachael wear that horrendous denim body-warmer all the time!
