I wish he'd stick to his excellent stage shows; his TV specials have ranged from the brilliant to the truly dire IMO, but we'll give it a go.

Not often I watch Derren Brown, but this one looks strangely fascinating as I am into all this zombie business

After all mysterious radiation from a space probe was the apparent cause in the original Night of the Living Dead

Going to be intriguing to see how he manages to convince this one person the Zombie Apocalypse has devastated the planet

I'm a huge huge Derren fan but I do agree with you OP - his stage shows are truly spectacular (especially when you see them live!) but his specials just lack that finesse IMO. He's an excellent showman which is why I think his stage shows are miles better.

Saying that, I look forward to anything he does and tonight is no exception.

This is the kind of special of his that I usually *yawn* at (you know that the person involved will go along with anything that happens because they're too scared to let the show down, which is the way that all stage hypnotism works).

They do extensive 'casting' to find that person, then they can just build whatever show they want around them. This is just gonna be another version of 'Hero at 50,000ft' or when he made a guy believe he was inside a videogame. In fact, Apocalypse seems like a larger version of the game one.

I've seen this advertised and will definitely be watching. I've not really watched his live shows, so perhaps that's why I'm so intrigued lol.

I guess, if all goes to plan, and it looks as though the guy isn't faking it, then I'm interested to know how it pans out and how the he'll behave. I mean, in an apocalypse, wouldn't you be tempted to kill someone (or at least knock them out) if they got in the way of your survival???

Theres nothing that ever replaces watching "Have I Got News For You" on a Friday evening..but when Derren Brown is on then HIGNFY is shoved to the side at speed.

Cannot wait for this, its never really been about "the lottery" or "zombies" for Derren, this is all social experimentation, a grand scheme to show people that they are not really the "free thinkers" they perceive themselves to be.

Surely anyone applying to take part in these special events (even if they're told they're not selected) must be suspicious when something really unusual happens afterwards (e.g plane crash, the end of the world)

I agree that Derren's stage shows are the most impressive although I did enjoy the special he did in the US where he trained someone to be a "faith healer".
