No - not Halloween aliens (at least I don't think so) but in loads of posts on all the threads I've looked at, some words are in green, and if you hover cursor over them up pops an advert. Anyone else getting this problem?

[It's not a huge problem, but it is annoying].

I've been getting them on and off for a few days - really annoying - is this something DS have done, or is it my browser (Chrome)?

A bit wary of putting ad-blocker on my computer because I've been told it will slow it down...even more...

That started on me yesterday. I'm using firefox. I think it is a particularly irritating and underhand form of advertising. I get that free sites need funding somehow but they have the bar and square at the top for ads and the bar that pops up on the bottom. To link to random words in posts is going a bit far to me.

Yes everyone on most forums are complaining about the new advertising hijacking of their posts.

I, however am not seeing any ads at all

Oooh that's wierd. The Mods definately said the green should disappear when you log in...

EDIT: you're absolutely right, they are still there.

Whether you are logged in or not you will still see the green words *sighs*

well I just did a few things on my firefox and now the green words are gone, not sure which worked.

1: Completely cleared our ALL my cookies manually ....

2: Went to Tools - Options - Privacy - Make sure the box under Tracking is checked.

3: Restarted Firefox and now I do not see the green words.

I've noticed recently that practically every site I go on to has a message which says something like "by using this site you are agreeing to the use of cookies".

Could it be anything to do with that?

No idea really, as I'm not technically-minded.

No, that's always been the case, there's just a new EU regulation that says we must be informed that websites use cookies, hence the messages on every site
