Anne Widdecombe and Russell Grant will raise millions for Children In Need when they take to the Strictly dance floor again with Anton and Flavia, what a fabulous pre Christmas treat we all have in store with SuBo, Kylie, Zara Phillips and good old Sir Terry Wogan also on the bill.

Strictly Come Dancing fans across the country will be digging deep for Children in Need, and quite right too, its a great cause.

" And there's a treat in store for Strictly Come Dancing fans, as old favourites Ann Widdecombe and Russell Grant will return to the dance floor for the event, alongside their dance partners Anton Du Beke and Flavia Cacace. "

What a revolting thought! Whose bright idea was this?

Can it get much worse? Frankly, no!

As others have said - thanks heavens for remote controls, FF buttons and one's ability to simply switch them off

I never watch Children in Need anyway so I wont be too worried......I may consider watching when they finally put Terry Wogan out to grass and never have Ferne Cotton near my TV.

I never watch it either. It's my idea of TV hell.

I really do genuinely find the idea of Ann Widdecombe being involved in Children in Need offensive.

So do I.
Still, I'm sure the OP will persist in his misplaced adoration.

There's apparently a total solar eclipse whilst we're over there
Surely that's not the universe responding to her!

Anne Widdecombe and Dear Russell are both National Treasures adored by the wider viewing public and Strictly Come Dancing fans, there will always be a minority that can't appreciate the generous fund raising efforts by celebrities like them for worthy charity causes like Children in Need.

I'm pretty sure Ann Widdecombe is detested by many for her political views, although I do agree that doing anything to help CIN is good, surely they could have come up with a better idea..

I love to know what 'a national treasure' actually is in this country?

I am just stupid foreigner and the phrase has always bothered me since it is frequently attributed to those who appear to have a great opinion of themselves - without the requisite brains, wit, charisma or talent to match.

Some are even bigots, so I am very confused. It is an entirely subjective thing, is it not?

Is it an open door as to who appoints these National Treasures .Because it seems Terry to be you appointing these people . And can you give statistics and numbers please for the wider viewing public who adore them as I dont know one single soliditary person who is of this opinion .So its seems to be just a random call by you to make this up and print it as if its a fact .Unless of course you can provide figures and facts .

If sofakat or Button came on DS they could announce and annoint me a National Treasure , but it wouldnt make me one .

Considering her views on homosexuality I'm amazed she will let Russell anywhere near her.

Odious old bat with right wing archaic views is once again repackaged as a game old bird having a laugh. Nothing could be further from the truth. It boils my p!ss to be honest.

I think that's a bit unfair.

I quite like bats.

That had occurred to me too Skyrah, but I could not bring myself to type his name!

'National treasure' is such a misnomer.

*sighs* Have you stopped taking your meds Terry? Anne Widdicombe was the worst contestant ever - not necessarily the worst dancer but one of them. Russell was ok.
