It's more user friendly and easier to use the S3 is more for people who like things technical and complicated

Can the S3 do the wireless synchy things like iTunes Match and PhotoStream? It's nice not having to plug your phone into your computer.

Fair point, i wonder if someone with an S3 could comment?

Lol, my wife still wants an iPhone5 which is going to cost to upgrade up front and every month!, where as the S3 will be no cash up front with the same tarrif!

Honestly though, its not that big a factor. Its down to whether we like the devices that matter more for us.

Android has file browser apps that let you move files around your phone and the network. It's just like using windows with cut n paste etc. You can also install a uPnP app like Mediahouse and you can stream any movies, photos and music from your pc. Or your NAS if you don't even want to switch the pc on.

If you want to continue to use iTunes there's apps that use Airsync for wireless syncing. I find that I don't use iTunes as much.

Actually that goes with the points i've put in the other thread anyway. A file browser and DLNA are things the iphone doesn't have which S3 does.

So the file browser can see network shares too? Its like moving into the modern networked home all over again!

The iphone has the wonderful XBMC media streamer client though.... If you jailbreak!

I store most things on Dropbox from my S3 all music, videos are streamable straight from Dropbox on my comp. All my backups, pictures again viewable through that. I could download them but there's not much point if I need them they are just 'there' anyway.

That is the most outrageous statement. Android 4.1.1 can be as simple as you like or as complicated as you like. A stock S3 is simple to use, even simpler to download onto or drag and drop files onto. This argument that Android is complicated, or the S3 is technical to use is nonsense.

Nonsense, everything has a learning curve, once you GET IT, you GOT IT. I know many NON techie friends who have Android phones. Hell it has the biggest market share of any OS out there.

That's an awful lot of techies!!

My ex-wife got an S3 on Tuesday this week. She swapped her iPhone4 for one. (Good deal).

My Son and I thought we would be getting plenty of texts or phone calls asking this n that about it.

Now, when I say she is thick as shit when it comes to technical things, I mean, she actually is dumber than dumber about tech stuff.

She couldn't even install Kies on her laptop. That's how technically minded she isn't!

However, after using her S3 for around 1 1/2 hours on her own, she texted me and told me how much she liked the phone and how easy it was to use. She had even learned how to text by swiping lol

So, there you have it. It took her around 1 1/2 hours to get comfortable with the S3!

Hardly "more for people who like things technical and complicated."

Well i didn't dare not have a cover for my iphone, but with the S3 having it as the manufacturer intended is actually a possibility! At least it wont come scratched out of the box.

The S3 is way more durable than an iPhone 4 or 5. There isn't anything unique to iPhone apart from iTunes.

Take your pick:
http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...hone+5+s3+drop

For those who can't be bothered to watch any of them, the common theme is the iPhone withstands much higher knocks and drops than the S3 before breaking, but the rigid aluminium of a iP5 does show small nicks & dings more prominently than the more flexible plastic of an S3. So I guess it depends on how to define "durable".

Don't forget iTunes is a store, not just an app.

Sure, but they seem to have made the iOS app store a mess as well now. Scrolling from app to app is hit and miss now.

Is Google Play store better? Serious question; I don't know.
