Sony RDR-HXD870 losing channels
This is my first post
I have a Sony RDR-HXD870 HDD/DVD recorder. After recording a program on HDD all the channels are lost when the box switches to standby. The same happens if I just switch off to standby. I have no problems doing a re-tune after switching the box on again. This has been happening for about three weeks. I have reset to the factory default settings but it still happens. Could you keep any replies simple please as I'm in my late 70's and I have problems with the modern technology/terminology. Thanks. |

You need to load new firmware. The exact same thing happened to me, and was fixed by downloading the new firmware from the Sony support site. You need to ensure that you follow the instructions precisely, and especially make sure that you burn the image to disc in one operation which will finalize the disc as well.

You have to follow the instructions on the Sony Support website, which involves downloading and burning the firmware on to a CD-R,and then updating your recorder via the CD-R.
Link and instructions on this page:http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/pro...ds/FW_DVDR_170 |
