I have not read most of the thread, just commenting on one point which may resonate with more than one viewer.
Whenever a celeb stands before the judges after a dreadful performance, Darcey would give a more or less technical critique, then she would follow it with praise on some other aspect so extravagant as to feel disingenuous, as if to soften the blow. Then when her paddle is raised, real criticism and questionable praise is combined to arrive at a fudged paddle of 5 or 6.
To be vicious, drawing blood, would be unkind, unproductive, unnecessary -- Craig has already cornered that market to his own ££ benefit.
Darcey needs to bear in mind that as ballet dancer of world class she needs to keep clear blue water between herself and any perception of superiority and smugness. A celeb could misconstrue kind words as being patronised with praise invented to soften the blow -- that would be an insult in reverse. It would be better to tell it straight in Darcey's natural kind voice.
In Strictly Darcey is the examiner. Not easy to combine that with the role of a parent building up a child after an exam flop. I take no pleasure in saying this, as I am Darcey's adoring fan.
