Does anyone actually enjoy the 'sketches' ?”

Depressing to think we still have so many weeks left of Strictly. And now these daft VTs are out in full force now!

I would rather see some actual training or not lose time in the show and lose judges' comments

I can't abide the 'comedy' VTs as they're so ubercringeworthy it's hard to express it without bad language. More seriously, the show producers are missing the point that genuine training footage - with all its ups and downs - is a powerfully effective way of building the viewers' grasp of the characters involved and getting us involved with them and their 'journeys'.

Yeah they are getting really tedious.

I dont mind non training VTs once in a while, for example on the theme nights, and we have been unfortunate enough to get two of them in a row, or Wembley/Blackpool week. But the last few series they are on every week and its just stupid.

Also, anyone ever thought that if they spent less time doing stupid VTs, the dancing might improve. Producers take note.

Morgan, that's it exactly. I'd watch them learn to do carpentry (actually, would love that ) or sheep shearing (ditto), any skill at all... but show the heart of it

I so agree with you both , Silly Stupid VTs, and not enough time for comments fort wo tonight , dont they realize that we want to see how the training is going so that when we see the finished product , such as Michael and Natalie tonight , we can see how the couple arrived at it .

Someone probably does. Remember this is the show that had Russell Grant being fired out of cannon and lots of people voting to see him do something similar the next week. You also then have Russell thrown into assorted theatrical productions by producers who presumably think he sells tickest - even though he can't act, sing or dance. Its the same with the VTs. If some people will buy mousetrap cheese you put it on the menu alongside the tastier fodder to get more customers overall.

It seems these VT's are universaly hated, so is it really just to appeal to the X factor generation, as has been suggested? I'm saddened at the dumming down of a programme I've been watching from the beginning of series 1. I used to record it so I need never miss a minute, now it's recorded to cut out the VT's, and feel a show I love watching is drifting away from me.....am I getting old, do the young like these VT's, maybe I'll carry out some research?

I sometimes think parts of the show are aimed at small children.

The jokes are sketches are very childish. I expect some children do watch as it is a family show but I think even 5 year olds would be insulted.

I hate these pathetic VT's so much that I either started talking through them or popped out of the room and missed the beginning of some dances.
Why are the producers trying to dumb down the programme? To appeal to 7 year olds who are not allowed to use the phone to vote anyway.

Please lose the themes,vt's and the clapping along and restore the programme to the format that made it so successful in the beginning.
If it aint broke etc.

That's a very good point - I agree they are missing a trick by leaving out genuine training footage.

Well I love them and I'm going to write and tell the lovely BBC so, in my best crayon.

The vts remind me of the naff adverts some of the people on 'The Apprentice' make...but worse.

No one has been dressed up as a Tellytubby yet have they. Only a matter of time, probably....

The celebrities need all the time they can get to practise their routines without having to do silly VTs,

The whole prog is getting worse unfortunately. Far too much emphasis on dances "telling a story", introducing novelty etc. And as for Forsyth, a ballerina and du Beke, I'd love to utilise the Roman solution of putting them in a sack and throwing them, in the Tiber.

Finally something where we can all agree here .
They are truly awful , a waste of time and demeaning to celebs and professionals

So damned irritating I turned off after dance 2. Pity, as I missed Michael and Natalie, but there's always iPlayer I suppose.

Sorry, I think I must have posted a new similar thread not realising that there was one saying excatly the same. I agree totally, those VTs - what a waste of time! As I said on my post, we could have had the pro dancers doing two or three brilliant dances in the time wasted on the VTs.

I don't think I could actually sit and watch this programme from start to finish - I record it and watch it later and can see the whole thing in about a quarter of the time just watching the dancing and the scores.
