Rik Waller: a pre-emptive strike against anti-Lucy trolls
If anyone claims that Rik Waller was kicked off Pop Idol for getting ill - and that consequently Lucy is getting some kind of preferential treatment this week - remind them that Rik was only removed because he was too ill to perform for two weeks in a row. He was in fact given a 'by' for the first week of his laryngitis, just as Lucy has been now.

That was Pop Idol. X-factor is a different show, I doubt anyone will make any such comparisons.

Who?
I think you are the only one who remembers him to bring it up. |

I've seen Rik down my high street many times. I think he struggles to be taken seriously.

Last I heard Darius was recording tracks for his new album with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
The recordings were scheduled for earlier this year but Darius couldn't commit then because he'd got the lead in an ABC pilot in the US and had to wait until after the upfronts to know whether it would be picked up as a series. |

Is it not against the DS terms and conditions to call FMs trolls? (Without actual evidence only because they don't like a contestant?)
Just checking? |

No, he was the clinically obese one with an ego the size of his own arse.
He had a decent voice but without the novelty value of being huge, he would have got nowhere. |

How does having a different opinion make someone a troll?

It's school ground behaviour in its puerile nature. |

Obviously this is a DS trope that gets about such a we are "jealous" if we don't like a contestant or the fact if some contestant slags off DS that is our reason for hating them.
It's school ground behaviour in its puerile nature. This topic posted by the op is more like something you would expect to see on twitter. |

A contestant on the first series of Pop Idol, who received sympathy votes for having an OK voice but being fat. He was replaced by Michelle McManus in the second series.

Rik Waller had a great voice to be fair, although the novelty of having a morbidly obese contestant also helped.
He should have released an album of troubled, sensitive singer songwriter material and would have found a niche in the marketplace. |
