I love Nicole, she is such a fun judge. She sings along and dances. Everything she says I agree with! And she isn't nasty either!

I found it funny when she called Tulisa, "Lisa", and Tulisa looked furious!

What a load of hokum! Nicole brings some much needed personality to the judges - the other 3 trot out the same ol' words week after week. VCalling some of these guys " world class" - guess they haven't seen a map in a while, and they wouldn't recognize class if it bit them

She's just filling the vacuum where Simon and Tulisa's personalities should be, and comments-wise she gives the most insightful and constructive ones.

Spot on.but to be honest I'm fed up with both of them.

She acts like she is sneaking some of Gary's vino before the show.

I'd say she keeps a hip flask under her desk and gets progressively more drunk as the show goes on.

I like her X Factor persona marginally more than her 'desperate hanger-on' persona when she's watching one of Lewis's races.

Which isn't saying much.

I love Nicole.

By far the best judge, as she has something different to say each time.

The other judges are like robots spouting same old comments week after week.

I am enjoying Nicole very much. Tulisa too (don't get the hate).

Does she? I'd reserve the "Thinks it's all about them" crown for Gary personally.

Nicole's great, and she can stay right where she is.

Nicole is more exuberant than Gary or Tulisa but she is just as prone to hackneyed judgements as the others:

"You owned it."

"You made it your own."

"You were born to be on that stage."

"The harmonies were on point."

"That is what the X Factor is all about."

"You are an international recording artist."

"You remind me of Gabrielle."

"I didn't love the song choice."

Add in gratuitous use of 'amazing' and 'energy' and you have a standard-issue X Factor judge who makes a few wacky comments.

I like her but I sometimes wonder what she's on. Her technical comments are the best on the panel, and her judgement is pretty good, it's just when she lets her inflated ego get out of hand ... also, much of her commentary is too sexualised for a family show and she's beginning to look desperate in some of her outfits flaunting herself at the desk. She looks great, but I prefer the classy Nicole, not the supposedly sassy one - she isn't sassy at those points but uncool.

What about all her comments on keys, tones and modulation? Never heard those words come out of the mouths of the likes of "The People's Princess".

Seasoning a main course of clichés with a few remarks about song keys, or a reference to vocal harmony intervals, may set her apart from Cheryl but it's the same fare served up by Gary. Comments on tone? In week one Nicole said Jade had an "amazing tone" that was "unlike anyone else", by week four she "reminded" her of Gabrielle.

How seriously should we take her technical commentary? She told Kye, in week two, that his vocals were "excellent" and "right on point" when they were manifestly neither. The following week, you will recall, Gary was seen counting the number of flat notes in that performance: thirty-two by his reckoning. Since Gary originally praised Kye's "great vocal performance" we know that his verdict was dishonest, but what about Nicole's - was it dishonest or incompetent?

Contrary to what you might think I don't dislike her but I don't think she offers anything radically different - Kelly would say "you put it down", Nicole says "you swagged it out" - as with every other judge she relies too much on the hoary X Factor lexicon.

she's not eccentric. eccentrics not the right word.

she's 'over the top' in that way that american entertainment feels you have to be when you're a tv personality. actually sometimes when she's giving her over the top praise of someone she almost sounds kind of tv evangelist like.

i think she probably genuinely likes to have fun in anything she does though. that's probably a very honest side to her.

I wasn't referring to Nicole saying she liked Jade's tone of her voice. In week 1 one she said the range was wrong and that she should have gone a tone up.

Nicole is definitely not incompetent when it comes to music. Both Simon Cowell and Ben Folds (American musician and most technical judge on an acapella show where Nicole was also a judge on) have said that Nicole has a great musical ear and hears things that others don't. Nicole is someone who has studied her craft, she's not your average popstar.

Last week, Gary said Kye's performance was "A boom, a crash and a bang" by your theory I guess that makes him incompetent too.

I agree about Nicole. I found myself agreeing with her when she said Ella sang her song in the wrong key. Don't get me wrong,as someone else has pointed out, Nicole does get it wrong sometimes but at the moment she's the only one offering any kind of technical advice to the contestants.

Tulisa is starting to get better. I've noticed that for the last two weeks she's starting to criticise the acts more and is being honest... particularly when she said she 'didn't get Christopher', but she tends to focus on the commerical side of things rather than the singing.

Unfortunately, Louis is starting to look a bit daft with his comments. He said the other week re Kye that he really liked the song choice but there was something missing. When Gary pressed him on what was wrong, Louis then said 'it was the song choice' Louis' had a few of those moments this year - it's like he's trying to think of criticism but can't really back it up with anything insightful.

I would classify that as a comment on key choice as she was talking about Jade's range; the mention of her "sweet spot" could encompass tone.

I agree, she isn't incompetent. Why, then, was she dishonest in her appraisal of Kye's performance? His vocals were not "on point" and they were not "excellent", he was clearly flat throughout. If she isn't being candid there's no point in taking what she says seriously. The same applies to Gary.

That is a non sequitur.
