I must say I was tempted to put it on mute when randomly started wailing/moaning into the microphone for about 30 seconds.

That was a fantastic rendition of a song that I hated, I don't hate it now. I'm not a James Arthur fan but I have to give credit where it's due.

Yup, miles the best. The critics in this thread clearly have shockingly bad taste.

Serves up X Factor intensity, which is to the real thing as a burger chain's healthy living range is to good food. I tried looking away and just listening this week, as someone here had suggested, and it wasn't any better: he doesn't get inside songs at all, he could be given an EU directive to sing and it would come out just the same. As may be apparent, I don't get him either

I love him, but I can see why some people don't. Lots of people love Chris Maloney, but he bores me rigid and I want to put towels round the bottom of the TV to mop up the continual snivelling and whining. Sorry, this thread is about James, not Christopher, but just wanted to say that even though I love James, I am not at all offended if other people don't like him.

He's easily the best one there. Hopefully Him, Jahmene & Rylan make the F3

My hubby hated James' performance as dreary & I loved it as a fresh interpretation - just goes to show James is very much a marmite contestant! I am right of course lol

He is the latest cringeworthy embodiment of what a backstage producer reckons is "cool" and "current". Bleh.

Loved the first half but when he starts to scream at the end of the song it's so annoying. Terrible!

I like him the best out of all the XF mob, but I do think he's very much up his own backside. Still, never watched X Factor before, never want to again as it annoys me a lot, but am watching for him and Ella. It's my other halves fault, watching it when we were on hols and in a caraven where there was no escape!!! The other singers just seem like the same old same old that comes from XF, so I do feel him and Ella offer something a bit different.

And it's been available to buy since 1995!
