tulisa on xtra factor
She said something along the lines of. "im an open smoker and i asked gary once in auditions if i smell of fags and he said i lovr the smell of fags." and has said sorry and said it again when a caller asked why he said it. So gary has apologised and blamed it being live tv. Can we put it to bed now?

I agree. So glad Xtra Factor exists so they can put petty things from the main show to bed.
Gary apologised x 2 Tulisa was gracious in her response (although didn't accept the apology formally )It's over. |

She wasn't gracious. She tried to make a point back to gary about how he has said previously he likes the smell of smoke. She thought she was being smart but it didnt come across and made her look even more foolish.
Then she refused to accept his apology! |

So basically anybody can say anything they want to you let alone in front of millions & as long as they apologise you will forgive them immediately even if you are still angry with what they said....wow what a dull world we'd live in if everyone was as forgiving as you.I bet you,ve never carried an argument on in your life you are so gracious

How many of the people who saw the comment made on ITV1 went on to see the apology made on ITV2?

Did Tulisa not say last week that they argue on screen, but as soon as the show is over for the night they put everything behind them? Fair play to her, it's a pretty adult way to deal with things and I'm sure they're fine.

Once it has been said, it will stick despite any apology thereafter - much like Tulisa's comments about Misha B.
Maybe there is such a thing as karma. |

Tulisa's refusal to accept two apologies was just petulent and points scoring on live TV because she felt humiliated. |

She refused to accept his apology but she never apologised to him for coming back with a pathetic wine comment. Both of them were in the wrong, but Gary was hilarious when he said it.

Accepting an apology is not the same as fogiving someone. Accepting an apology is an aknowledgement that the other person has said sorry and can't do much more to show contrition. Forgiving them is something else entirely.

So basically accepting an apology is equally as shallow an act as offering an apology in the first place.both done to look good to others, what a totally pointless & meaningless exercise.the best way to avoid such nonsense is to not make such personal insults in the first place.the blokes nearly twice her age & he resorts to that..ha ha unbelieveable
I think people forget that there is not much you can do to un-say something on live TV and Gary could do no more than offer an apology at that time. I think you are also conveniently forgetting that Tulisa started off the personal insults by having a go at a singer that has never been in the bottom 2 and claiming he was murdering songs every week and then trying to shift the blame on to Gary for it. She had no reason for the strength of her criticism and Gary simply closed her down in an extremely effective way and killed the whole angle she was pursuing. |

When Gary Barlow was tulisa s age he was dancing around badly in a leotard with take that.i don't think he was revered enough to have been asked to critique on a show as big as the X factor

And your point is what exactly? That Tulisa is too young to be credible on the show? |

I don't think it si quite that shallow. I think it is basically an admission of guilt or wrong doing. It does have significance.

do you mean like the way Gary constantly critises rylan??believe it or not that is what they are there for not to be takin swipes at each others oral hygiene.so if they're not in the bottom two if someone doesn't like the performance they shouldn't say anything.i too think chris is absolute shite but I wouldn't comment on his breath because that has nothin to do with it,anyway his nan would no doubt tell him to brush his teeth
If Tulisa wanted to make a constructive suggestion then I'm sure Gary would have listened but instead she just blasted the act and tried to blast Gary as well and we still don't actually know why. Accusing an act of 'murdering' songs week after week is not really a constructive criticism. |

If tulisa sorted her fag ash breath out then gary would not have been able to make the comment. Her breath is offensive!

If she brushes her teeth then the problem would be solved however Barlow cannot ever rid his self of his dull personality he's stuck with that forever.

You're confusing critique of an act with one judge having a go at another judge for unfair criticism. All Gary did was close down unfair criticism, not critique an act.

I suppose he'll also be stuck with the gazillions of pounds he has in the bank. Would you rather be called boring and rich or exciting and dead before you're 30?
