It is worth watching for what it is. But it has a lot of fluff for those not interested in celebrity culture.

There is room for another show without celebrity and just dance. On BBC2 or BBC3.

Why didn't they just move Strictly Dance Fever to BBC2 or BBC3?

thats what 95% of all the viewers want (i do my own mini surveys every week)

I have watched every year - but feel this year really is a bit poor”

Not while Sir Bruce is still at the helm.

Well, you can pull me off the instant Ola goes.

Its getting 12million viewers max which is better than any show in the UK ATM. LOL I don't think its time the show got axed.

Axe the show ? Is it Simon Cowell's birthday or something ? No. It shouldn't be axed.

Not at all.

It may not be at the strength it's been at this stage in the last 2 series, but it's still got potential to be a strong series. Having 2 theme weeks in a row probably wont help whilst it's still early in the competition.

It's not perfect, and this series has a long way to go before I personally could rank it as one of my favourites, but it's by no means hit rock bottom.

As someone else pointed out, it's still the BBC's flagship show, and it's probably the most unique talent/reality show of them all. The only way they could possibly axe it is if they has something to replace it with that could possibly challenge XF and the other channels in the ratings (since for the BBC and co that's the most important thing) and I can't possibly think of anything else.

If they ever axed Strictly, what would they put in its place? There's not really room for any more reality singing shows. There safest bet would be another dance show, so what's the point?

Right now, the ratings suggest it's not broke, so I see no reason for them to try and fix it.

No, we've watched every series from the start, and this is one of the best. The marking is more realistic, there are no grotesque contestants just there for a joke, and Darcy has improved the judging panel.

What a strange thing to ask.

You no longer enjoy something so they should just stop making it? I've gone off Mars bars lately, but I'm not boycotting my local Costcutters till they stop selling them

I'm one of the 5% then because I like the mix of music. Some times it works - Louis and Disturbia, sometimes it doesn't - Kimberley and Hungry Like the Wolf.

But I like the balance they have between entertainment and dancing. Sometimes it veers too far towards entertainment but I wouldn't watch it if it was proper Come Dancing with celebs.

They have to reach an awfully wide demographic and try to please them all but the huge majority of watchers are not dancers and so don't really care about how pure the dance was but rather did they like it, was it a nice dress and did it entertain them? They don't please everybody every time, but I think they do a pretty good job.

LOL excellent

Hence my earlier post of it being a bit of an over reaction to cancel the series. This example is perfect

It's certainly not struggling in the ratings.

Nice to find a thead when I feel I'm with the majority! I'm loving this series (VTs aside) and with the ratings battle currently going their way I think it's unlikely the BBC will scrap it any time soon!!

Scrap it -definetely not. Change some of the cast - yes. As with all these things people get big-headed and think they're the stars and they then lose what it was that made them good, and Len, Bruno and James/Ola are all falling into that category. For me

- Len - immediate go - the looks and noises he gives when the audience disagree (and guess what Len, it's a show FOR US) are just plain rude
- Bruce - sadly, yes time to quit, go with grace
- Bruno - he's too trying hard but he's getting boring. Stay/go? Hard one, perhaps he needs a new script writer (what....he says he doesn't have a script writer...?)
- Craig - stay, stay, stay, best thing about the show
- Darcy - a non-entity, harmless enough but Karen would be FAR better
- Tess - Ok but don't give her more to do
- Zoe - a bit OTT, calm it down a bit and you could be good on takes 2 - watch how Claudia did it - far more professional
- the contestants - not a bad choice this year - some you can like, some you don't which is what you want - but they should make it more fair (Denise this yr/Jason donovan last yr - stage performers and dancers....is this fair?), a bit like putting a trained baker in bakeoff series
- the comedy VTs - immediately can these, and the person who thought they were funny

it gets good figures because it is still a good format, but the Beeb does need to keep looking at it and working hard to keep it there. The halloween show flopped - music choices were dire and somehow there wasn't the atmosphere they created last year. Take heed Beeb people, you know what happens when you don't!

Then again, perhaps the Beeb bosses have their minds on other issues at the moment.....

Would still have suggested it if I weren't. A break did that show a favour.

'Course it doesn't alwayes work (Dallas?)

But equally I don't mind if it keeps going, with some improvements of course.

Strictly will today increase its gap over X Factor so hardly a reason to drop the show, but i must admit i would drop the theme weeks.
