Bring back Big Band Week!
It's one of those weeks where we find out who can actually sing, who else wants it back?

It wouldn't work, Lucy would have to be off 'sick' again that week.

It would be good. It'd suit Jahmene, Ella and Jade very well. But yeah, I can already imagine Lucy singing one of her own songs and strumming along with her guitar anyways.

Mind you, the last time I remember it was when Lucie Jones sang "Funny Valentine," which I thought was a stunning performance..and was ripped to shreds like much of her stuff by Cowell and I believe that was the week, he saved Jedward over her. Robert Allen's version of "Mr Bojangles," a few seasons before, I thought was totally competent and proved him to be a real contender for the title and then Cowell did him in, in favour of Eton Rd. So it won't necessarily guarantee that quality counts with either the judges, or the public. I'm fine with a Big Band night... I'd just rather there were never another ABBA night..and only because I don't want to hear those numbers murdered by most, if not all of them. Rich. x |

Maybe Lucy could sing 'Angel of Harlem' like Jamie did in 2009?

I'd love to see it brought back, it would sort a few of them out, that's for sure.

Not really. That was two weeks later on 'movie week'. That was the week when Miss Frank went out, Danyl was in the bottom two with them.

I liked big band night. I would love to see it brought in but they don't pay attention to the theme as it is!

Urgh no way, it's always been the worst week ever. You usually can't hear any singing for the band in the background and it's just dull.

You wait for James Arthur and/or Lucy Spraggan to do an 'acoustic' performance regardless.

Lucy would be fine, but in general, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![]() But I'm afraid it's ROFL to the idea that big band week would "show us who can sing". Really???

I used to hate Big Band Week but if it can give Jade more of a chance to make the top four, I'm all for it.

It was amazing! I remember there was 6-7 times where the Judges would all give the contestants a standing ovation. For talent, this was definitely it's peak year

Yes, and at the same time we can bring back spats, plus fours, speakeasies, black and white tv, the "wireless", the Third programme, pre - decimal coinage and anything else from a sepia tinted past from circa 1920 - 60 to bore us all with its staggering irrelevance to finding a 21st century recording star.
Not that those things were bad per se (well speakeasies were dubious) and it's good to remember and acknowledge their influence in how we got to where we are now, but like big bands, they've had their day. Well at least I think so. |

I think it was a great theme week, at least it was a musical theme unlike Halloween, what does Halloween even mean as a theme?!

I don't think Big Band Week should come back as the would only mean someone else would ruin Mack The Knife

Going by last night, a lot of dry ice, a few scary costumes, a few pumpkin lighting effects, a few blokes dressed up as the grim reaper and a couple of songs with "killing," in the lyrics, or the title..
