I blame phoney maloney for his constant karaoke standard of performances every week for the decline in the ratings,

as a united forum lets hope he goes tonight

Well I agree the sob stories don't help, they're just another nail in the X-Factor Coffin.

I agree with everything except the judges being crap, I really like Gary and Nicole.

It's also because the show is about an hour too long, has an ad break every 2 minutes and the audition/bootcamp shows were appalling, with not enough singing and too much talking.

As Dave said ratings are down because of what the show has become. Don't blame Chris getting through every week ratings were down last year too.

I have to admit I like Gary Barlow but cannot decide if he is trying to be controversial on the show or is just being himself. I liked it best when we had Simon, Sharon, Louis and Dannii as judges. Sharon was hilarious and Dannii just so likeable and honest.

The show has run it's course and the audience are moving on.

I said last year, it needs a year off and I stand by that. Maybe it should be on alternate years with BGT.

Agree the show has run its course and needs 12 months off, plus they need to replace Louis and Nicole and make sure that crap acts like Ryland dont push goood singers out of the competition.

I'd be interested to see the voting figures, cant imagine that many people bother nowadays.

Agreed, not any more they don't. When Will Young won 'Pop Idol', the contest was a genuine singing contest and the show was enjoyable to watch. The current series of 'X-Factor' is a parody of what Pop Idol / Early X-Factor was and any self-respecting singer with any common sense will stay well clear and get themselves an agent on their own.

I don't think X Factor is a patch on the Will Young Pop Idol days and not even the early days of X Factor. I am quite bored with this years 'triers' because they are all the same as those who have gone before except James Arthur. The in-fighting between the judges is infantile and I don't know what the hell Nicole is on because she has had a personality transplant. Or has she? Is this what she has always been like - very affected.
As for Rylan well........I don't think you can call Christopher karaoke and not him. He's a cabaret act not a serious singer.

David sadly you are correct. Yet I'm still watching it? I am a bit of a TV addict and am unable to sit in silence, yet the thought of this is becoming more and more appealing. Time the show moved on or the script was rewritten. We don't buy it anymore!
