Yeah to be honest HO can go away with trying to play the Doug sympathy card cause I've seen people who like Doug even think he's being a weasel for doing this. The fact their trying to make it into some gesture like 'he's doing something for the community' pissed me off last night. He's a jealous fiance nothing noble about it , it's actually quite pathetic that he has to have someone physically removed so his fiance will pay more attention to him. I have no doubt when Ste's finds out this will become a 'I did it for us' thing again and I'll be willing Ste to give him some home truths and dump his arse.

Doug is not his only option, obviously he is in soap land but Ste could just decide not to marry someone he doesn't love and get on with his life.

In soap land, the place where a passing comment from an airhead like Cheryl can persuade you to rush into a marriage, that obviously isn't an option but it should be.

I don't think Ste can make friends easily though. Like what Kieron said in that interview the other day, Ste isn't like most people, he has a totally different personality to them, Ste isn't one of 'the lads'. Which is the same with Brendan really, so that's why they fit together so well.

I see what you mean though. Ste could probably find someone else, but Ste wants the stability and comfort he never got in his life with his parents and Doug can offer that, even with all the insecurities and what not and he's there now, so Ste is evidently going to stick with him.

That's just how I see it anyway
