I seem to remember Doug being extraordinarily able to let go of the past before.
Lol yeah but I guess I just wondered why they'd bring it up again when everyone knows by now it's constantly on his mind. Perhaps the past is his relationship with Ste, or something...

Morning all, am I the only one who isn't particularly keen on the idea of another wise child sorting out peoples problems with their innocent, yet deep, knowledge of life?

It sounds like sugar coated crap to me but we will see.

I wasn't massively keen on the priest thing either really and I kind of hate the idea of Brendan taking refuge in the parochial house.

They have to be careful not to push this too far.

Anyway I shouldn't worry until I've seen how they do it but HOs has got a sentimental streak a mile wide sometimes and I didn't sign up for pious!Brendan.

I didn't mind the Father Des thing too much, just because I like FD and because it took me by surprise - even so, a part of me balked a bit at it. I do share your concerns, though, ally. I guess we are relying on Emmett to carry it off.

Morning! Your post made me smile.

BIB1 - but, out of the mouths of babes, Ally!

I know what you mean, if I wanted sugar coated crap I'd be a Stug shipper. Oh hang on, not anymore

Ha! (sorry couldn't resist that one)

BIB2 - if he starts doing charitable activities around the village I might be caused to bail

Nope, you're not. Going to the church and talking with a kickass priest about god and the devil is one thing.

Cheeky little sick children ... yeah, I'm having difficulty keeping my breakfast down here.

This had better not be crap. Sometimes, even Emmett isn't good enough to save what he's given. But hey, the show generally is a lot better recently, so maybe ... we'll see.

Morning! Aww, c&s it's all Dickensian in the run up to Christmas, don't be cynical *cough, cough*

I have a t-shirt. 'Some people are sik fuks. Get over it.'

I want him in lycra at least once. Separates the men from the boys so it does

But I AM cynical sutts. Some of us can't be saved.

I just had a quick catch up, and Radio nailed it for me last night. If Brendan just needed a little chat with an unrealistically sentimental Tiny Tim, he could have nipped round to Tom's aaaaages ago. He dispenses wisdom like lego bricks.

I'll stop being churlish. They love each other, its all about them, it's fab. But this better not turn into some big soppy-ass romance.
*eyes HO suspiciously*

Aww c&s don't even say it! Come and join me in my Victorian Chocolate Box Christmas heaven! "You boy, what day is it?!"

BIB - Have you seen the Dublin pics? I think they have the dibbs on 'soppy-ass romance', but you know this is Brendan 'the butcher' Brady so we'll wait and see *eyes HO suspiciously too*

OT - I now have a worrying Dickensian Stendan fic taking root in my brain - did you do an Austen one once? Brendan in a Chuzzlewitt coat and top hat *le sigh*

Possibly the cheeky sick kiddie is an orphan and Ste and Brendan can adopt her and give her one of their kidneys.

It would be very moving.

I can see a Christmas themed dream sequence coming on, I'm sure it's been mockingly pondered on here before. Ghost of Brendan past, murdering and punching Ste in the ribs, present Brendan weeping to sad songs, and ghost of Brendan future serving the homeless in a soup kitchen wearing a pink apron

Ha! Sutts, you're like Fred Scrooge, the cheery nephew. "Merry Christmas, Uncle!"

Oh all right. [grudging]. Dublin looks romantic. But it's romantic in a "locking my heart to a bridge in steel" kind of way, not a roses and fluffy kittens kind of way.

I did do an Austen fic, long time ago, inspired by lila's amazing pics. Top hats were involved. As were tight breeches and chaise longues.

I loved yours btw! Read it last night. Sexy and gorgeous without being soppy.

Well I think we called the It's a Wonderful Life scenario for last year so they might as well take our idea for HOs Christmas Carol.

They could even use ghost Steph again.

I am indeed! I shall be passing the nog around and organising charades before the year is out!

The lampost behind them all lit up - it is romantic isn't it? And Ste's kitten smile. Still get the impression he's getting the seeing to of his life when they get back to the hotel though

Ha! Tight breeches. They were the lycra of Austen's toime

Glad you liked it!

AND it's never stopping, c&s. Someone thinks they're being bloody cute and clever at HO. They have the bit between their teeth now. Cue - Brendan finding an injured bird, he goes to walk away, but can't....

Exactly ally. This is exactly what I was afraid of.

Just getting to go to church and call himself the devil and revelate because of wise dying little girls now is manipulating for sympathy and a cop out. I still can't reconcile with what he just got away with as recent as last week, and I don't see how they're handling his redemption in any real way that's fair. But hey ho.

Even this long chat tonight has been designed for the excuses.

Sutts I really love that fic you posted last night wow if only that were possible to see on tv. We really do need that Stendan late night special

The new spoilers out last night really do make me cry Brendan confides in that sick child Daisy and she tells him good advice. But bloody Doug will top Brendan telling his true feelings to Ste by getting the police involved so it will be to late by the time Brendan makes it to the wedding. But we all need to stay positive and just think of Dublin they WILL be together.

And let's not forget its gonna be a Brady-Hay Christmas since Eileen, Declan,Paddy and Ste and his kids Leah and Lucas will be there since they have been spotted going into Lime so let's all keep thinking of that

No, I said something similar last night. I really hate stuff like that.

But, I'm trying to reserve judgement. I'm sure if anyone can make it work, Emmett can.
