Christ, this show is dreadful. They all sound like tuneless drunks in search of their next kebab.

Simon Cowell is slowly killing the British music industry with this tripe. Stop watching,,,, stop watching now!!!!!

The producers really have put the final nail in the coffin. Each week the viewers are getting pissed off that utter joke acts are being saved instead of genuine talent. The producers think it needs to be an entertainment show first and foremost but they've gone too far this time. Maybe they are going to catch the attention of the casual viewer but they are alienating the loyal viewers of the show who want to see justice done on a sunday night.

Aye. Just look at how X-Factor killed the career of Adele.

Killing off the music industry is the best thing that could happen to music. Cowell is a cornerstone of that industry, an industry that cares as much about music as MacDonald's does about gastronomy . So, watch X-Factor and let it end there. If you really must own the next single by Little Mix, torrent it.

Thanks for the advice. lol

I want to keep watching it through my fingers to see how bad it can get, it's doing a terrific job so far of bringing everything crashing down.

Simon is an absolute stinker but compared to Radio 1 he's the resurrected Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Radio 1 is the single greatest thing that's "killing music", and has been for a very long time.

Unsurprisingly, both Simon and the BBC have aided paedophiles, Jonathan King and Jimmy Saville respectively.

I was wondering when Jimmy Saville would be brought about in relation to X-Factor.

The amount of music snobbery in the above posts has me laughing and that's all this thread deserves at the moment. Laughter.

they said the same about Stock, thingy & Waterman in the 80's and it was truer then

But even if you accept all XF muisc is crap (it's not...all), a healthy industry wouldn't be damaged by it. The industry is being killed cos people can 'acquire' music and not buy it.

also as someone said above, & based on the few occasions i'm forced to hear it, the horrific and narrow output of Radio1 does far more damage across the board

I would love a Garbage themed week on X-Factor, they have some really classic songs especially on their first two albums.

I can't stop watching it's like one of those really bad films where it is so bad but you have to watch anyway. The only talent is James and he risks throttling himself with his own angst.

I am sure Adele never entered XFactor as a contestant. She is successful because she wasn't an XFactor contestant. Do you really think she would have made it past the first round?

Garbage's first album is timeless.

Shame it all went a bit to pot after the second though.
