There is a competition on the local news programme on Carlton to win a chance to sing Christmas carols with the boy band, G4.

Yes DL G4 are in Trafalgar Square tomorrow (Wednesday) singing Christmas carols

There was a competition on London Tonight (regional news programme) and four people were chosen to sing with the boys

I don't know the exact details - I joined the programme late and only saw the winners being announced

I grew up listening to Motown Records (My Brother was 12 years older than me) and THE FOUR TOPS where a Boy Band! back in the 1964, they are still together 50 Years later, Boy Band is not a bad identity for everyone!

J

* One of the Four Tops died in the 90's and was replaced

To be honest, i cant see G4 - the operatic boyband being around for long. The novelty will soon wear off.

Yes, because no Team G4 member realises they are all boys, in a band.

May I actually be pedantic? As a musician myself, I don't like refferring to vocal acts as a band.....a group yes but not really a band.

No, because no anti-Team G4 member realises they are all men, in a group.

I've never got that either - to me a band has instruments (and please no comments from team G4 about flutes or trombones thank you)

Most vocal groups are referred to as "band".

Again, as above, vocal groups are referred to band. And Westlife, all older than G4, and are men, get called "boyband".
