Does this prove how popular Little Mix were?
Yes, we all know they are the only group to win, but seeing as Union J and D3 are known to have massive fanbases, they have still ended up in the B2 each. Puts everything into persopective, even before their "breakthrough" (IMO Week 4's ET performance), they escaped the B2 in the first 3 weeks when most groups end up in the B2 in the first few weeks.
Will any group will ever be as successful and escape the B2 every week and poll 2nd or first? One Direction, Journey South and Same Difference went to 3rd place without being B2 but didn't get Top 2, JLS and G4 finished 2nd but ended up in the B2 once. |

It takes longer to get to know groups.
Little Mix had very distinctive personalities and it worked well for them. Both District 3 and Union J will have to do the same if they want to survive. |

Groups based on a foundation of the stupid teenage girl vote will never win.
Look at how huge One Direction are now, but their hormonally-challenged fanbase couldn't get them a win, could they? |

Union J and District 3 are not known to have massive fanbases. We are told by the producers that they have massive fan bases.

Yes
![]() Both Union J and District 3 have bigger fanbases than the girls did this time last year and still it hasn't been enough to escape the B2. |

Little Mix had the whole group never winning/girlband never getting far underdog story going for them right at the start, so it was much easier to root for them than two 1D clones who are splitting votes.

The only reason Little Mix was a success is because they were good, I don't think another group can come on and top their success.

It was different last year - look at how pushed they were from every single judge to everything - the whole early girl group exit thing etc etc, constantly reminding people at every opportunity that they aren't save. Pushing Jessie and her weight for being different - It was a masterclass in subtle manipulation to get people to sympathise and empathise with them.
They also had the advantage of the 1st week with no public vote to establish themselves - week 1 is notoriously bad for Girl Groups and therefore had the opportunity to have 2 performanes under their belts to get the public on side and for the sympathy metre to roll |

Little Mix had very distinctive personalities and it worked well for them. . D3 and UJ are just trying to ape 1 Direction. |

Really? I admire your opinion and that some people are not to peoples taste, but if you watch their Don't Let Go performance, all 4 of them sang brilliantly.

I don't recall saying that they were bad singers, but the quote i was responding to was "Little Mix piss all over UJ and D3, far better singers" So I'm saying, in my opinion, that this one guy is better singer than any of them

Little Mix had the benefit of being very, very good , from the first week, but although dont let go or ET are seen as the 'breakout' performances, I thought they set themselves up as contenders week 2 with I'm like a Bird.
I think they also had the benefit of a broader demographic appeal than the boybands, |

Agreed. And the way Perrie sang the bridge on E.T was amazing. She definitely has an amazing voice.

Little Mix were so successful because they had such great chemistry and vocals. |

Little Mix would walk this year. Well saying that, they would have Louis so maybe not.
