And he's already made it clear he's not Simon Cowell's puppet with his comments and words in week 1. I'm not sure why anyone would say such a stupid thing.

His choice between Jade and unionj is 50/50 so he went on who wants it more...no big deal.”

This I completely agree with, but I dislike him as a person because he is rude. Perhaps it is all that wine he drinks which makes him run off at the mouth in a bitching way. I believe how he behaved is not what I want children to watch. I was shocked at his comment. Thank goodness he's leaving the show.

He's clearly there as a producers' puppet. I'm almost amazed at how he has been reduced to reading out the producers comments each week instead of offering a critique, all in return for a big paycheque : I get the impression he doesn't even like Christopher and Kye.

I thought it was a really mean comment towards Jade. He was essentially saying that he didn't think Jade was putting enough effort in even though she'd clearly been ill and was trying to conserve her voice.

He couldn't have said anything more calculated to make her feel bad about being voted off. Very unfair, IMO.

how to destroy a career's worth of credibilty in under two years....very sad actually..I used to have a lot of respect for him

What a lame and ignorant comment. So you think people who like Take That are automatically comatose or simpletons? Your post sums up everything I loathe about music snobbery. That assumption about Take That fans actually says more about you than it does about me or others who happen to like Take That.

I don't remember Gary having any credibility. So at least we found something he can't loose.
But concerning Jade he only failed to complete his statement: I'm standig right behind you....to stab you in the back.

Don't understand. If a judge signs up for the show, they lose credibility, therefore need to be fired off the show? Confused!

I like him as a judge far more than the other silly 3 ...though Nicole is pleasant enough if exhibitionist. Louis seems to be in another world entirely and Tulisa - well why on earth is she a judge? - I don't dislike her as a person (i'm sure she is a good mentor in terms of being their friend) but she is way too young to have any serious credibility as a judge.

And yet, it was her mentoring which resulted in Little Mix winning last year. She must be doing something right

I thought he lost that before he got the judging role

My two poits are separate to each other.

If a judge signs up to X Factor, they instantly lose credibility purely because of the type of show it is. It doesn't aim to look for a genuine recording artist, its just someone who can be a quick flash in the pan and make a bit of money from them. The show itself is manufactured even more than the acts that eventually get a recording career out of it.

The bit about him needing to go is just because he is a terrible judge and mentor, possibly the worst X Factor has ever had.

Yes I believe she is a good mentor in terms of being supportive... but I don't think she has the experience to be a good judge - she is way too inexperienced in her knowledge of music types because of her age. Don't get me wrong, I think she is a nice person, just think it needs someone more mature.

I didn't like it when he was praising Kye's performance one week, then following week we see Gary in the VT pointing out to Kye all his flat notes from same performance
At least Louis fesses up on the panel when one of his groups has a poor performance.

It's not just about being supportive. Song choice is very important and, for a group, there's a lot of technical stuff with respect to harmonies and distributing the right parts of the song to the right members.

It's possible that Little Mix did all that themselves but I'd argue that they would have had much less experience than Tulisa, so there's no reason to assume so.

Tulisa has actually been in the industry for 12 years now, since she was 12 years old so I'd say she has quite a bit of experience.

Obviously her music tastes has been different to many other judges, in that she comes from an urban background, but that just adds diversity to the panel, IMO.
