Do the producers ever reveal the number of voters? Ie not just the proportion of votes each contestant received each episode.

It would be interesting to see how few people actually waste their money (vote) each week.

I vote in the final if someone makes it that I actually like.

I refuse to vote in the normal shows as I dont like how the judges can overrule the public vote.

Even if they was to tell you the actual numbers its unlikely it would be the trurth !
X factor is more worried about the actual number of people who watch the x factor because they can sell that tothe advertisers and able to get more money from them.
They care very little about the phone numbers ! and its likely they would false the numbers who actually did vote to get the person they want "out" of the competition !
Again it all goes down to the advertiseing revenue ITV and SYCO get..
By the way i already know who they favourite to win this competition . A certain 16 year old . Facts are she can sing ,she is very sellable.and has beauty.. anyone would liketo take a bet on this??

Hardly anybody bothers to vote until the semi final stages- at this point in the competition it is dominated by sympathy voting, regional voting, people voting for hot boys and sweet lads and a small percentage voting for the best singer per week.

That's still quite high. Viewing figures for last night were at 8.2 million I think, which would mean 246,000 people actually voted.

They usually reveal the number of votes cast across the entire series along with the percentages. Although I don't think they did last year, but I'm not certain. It's usually around the 15-16m mark, probably a million or so lower since series 7, though.

I vote in the final and only if there's an act left that I like.

That's surprisingly high. And shows why they keep commissioning the series...

It's not really. Voting figures have been on a downward trend for years, there used to be much, much more.

Also the revenue made from the phone votes is absolutely tiny in comparison to the revenue made from advertising.

I've tended to put a few votes the way of performers I wanted to see and hear more of: Storm, Katie, Wagner, Cher, Frankie, Kitty, Janet, this year Melanie, Lucy and Rylan. Probably wouldn't vote in the final even if by some weird turn of events there were anybody in it about whom I cared a fig, as I'm always hoping to keep someone around and there's nothing for them to be around for after the final. Finishing anywhere in the final four seems as good as winning when it comes to future career prospects.
