Doubt it, when Diana returned she topped the votes.
Also the producers won't want her in the bottom two as they don't want her 'bye' to look suspicious. |

They can't control the bottom two though. The public reaction seems to be very bad for Lucy and it'll be hard to change that.

She lasted for 4 more weeks (until the semi final) so I'd say so.
That's true but they can try their best to keep someone out of it. Lucy does appeal to quite a few people, I wouldn't be surprised if she was higher in the votes than some people think. |

In the last 3 saw Gary's acts in the bottom 2 three times, twice being fatal. That's how they got that storyline. Also killed Jade this week. On first saved District 3 in the first show, and boosted attention and support for Lucifer. No one needs to watch all the performances now to vote, no incentive to watch to the end, and every incentive to vote straight after your favourite has performed. It's all much more subtle than before, which is why the bookies have struggled so much. The death slot/pimp slot was much more brutal and just relied on people forgetting about someone by the time the lines opened. Peak viewing is in the first hour, so are the most votes up for grabs now. |

They actually have a lot more power with the bottom 2 now, the change in the voting lets them shift fortunes of contestants by shifting them back or forward when they perform. Them already knowing the level of support already there.

They can always toss some filler contestants under the bus that week (sabotage), thereby creating a "buffer" between Lucy and the bottom two.

), but just like his namesake, the Christopher will ultimately triumph over this adversity and conquer the world. ![]() Chris will never be in the bottom two, because no one in the bottom two has ever won the show and winning the show is his destiny.... I imagine he will simply cruise to an easy victory.

I can't see the week away making any difference to her prospects of staying in the show a while longer. It's surprised me how many folks here have posted something along the lines of "Kye/Jade/James turned up and sang when they were sick, so why can't Lucy?" as though all instances of illness were equal and anyone who cared enough would get on the stage and perform so long as they weren't actually dead or at least paralysed. But it's my guess that practically everyone thinking that way already wanted Lucy gone, were happy to bolster their case in any way they could and would never have voted for her in a month of Sundays.
There really can't be many folks here who haven't experienced both the kind of sickness that lets you carry on with the normal business of living even if you feel pretty rotten, and the kind in which you could just about crawl from bed to bathroom if your life depended on it... |

She could have competed - it was Halloween night, she could have simply stood there makeup free.

Diana Vickers was hot favourite to win before her week off, Lucy wasn't - that's the difference. I think Lucy is as good as gone now
( - which is a real shame cos she is my fave.
