Most of us were topping them for a top 3 place. Is this still likely?

Who knows, it's a very right race this year (not that it should be by all means).

It's obvious that UJ is the chosen group by the producers this year.

D3 was clearly sabotaged this week with that daft mash-up and was expected to be in the bottom 2. Maybe now the producers are shocked that D3 has a bigger fan base than they originally planned.

I suppose it is with 8 different acts being in the bottom 2. Can't wait for the voting figures to be released, it will be interesting viewing.

Chris got more votes even with a older fanbase than Union J he's getting more popular as the weeks go on.

Maybe a ploy to get more votes in for Union J. Producers knew Jade was going and even if it went to viewers votes they would have been save. No doubt this will be the so called 'kick up the butt' and deliver an earth shattering performance. Blimey you could not write this... ooops they obviously do.

Definitely. They won't win, but they could still end up in the top 3.

Once the battle of the boybands is finished, whoever is left standing will do well. The teenyboppers haven't decided who their allegiances lie with just yet.

There's been a group in the top 3 in 6 out of the 8 series. In the two years that groups failed to make the top 3, one year had Jedward + 2 girl groups, and the other had the Macdonald Brothers who still made it to the top 4.

The vote is partially split with District 3, and after their poor performance the fans voted for them because they were considered more of a danger. This was at Union J's expense and will have shocked their fans, who won't do it again. District 3 will have to rely on their own fanbase from now on which means the song choices need to be spot on.

Union J are waaaay overhyped......with two of the members that cannot even sing

Jade was best in the sing off last night yet she went, which kinda proves that the sing off is a filler and a waste of time yet again

Maybe the Producers, but not Simon Cowell's.

Been there, done that. James Arthur is probably the only type of Act they've never had, urban and similar to Ed Sheeran. That is new for the X factor. If he doesn't win, he will be signed by Syco,I doubt Union J will.

i totally agree with you.
my personal opinion is boy bands are boring all tend to sound the same and i personally could do without having to listen to another one.

There's no conspiracy. They're crap and they're mentored by a pure fool who goes by the name of Louis Walsh. Enough said.

Union J are truly awful. Same with District 3. They are living on the edge at the moment. Really awful acts.

They weren't my favourites, but they (along with my overall favourite Jade, although she did admittedly disappoint on Saturday a bit) were one of 5 acts I actually did enjoy. I was shocked they were bottom 2 though, there's me thinking that Christopher was finally bottom because there was no way Union J were going to be bottom 2!

I cant believe people are surprised that they were in the bottom 3.

They look and sound like every boyband that has been around the last 20 years.

And their singoff song was an awful performance against the other contestant. What amazes me is the judges saved them. Barlow's comment to Jade that she didn't 'want it enough' was truly trite I mean if she didn't want it why was she there) and I did feel some sympathy for her as based on that sing-off she should have stayed by a MILE.

Sabotaged by Louis Walsh, who in turn is taking orders from the producers. It's not the first time, I Swear is another example.

I think they can still reach the top three, however I am surprised they were there, mostly because of their twitter hype. Comparing their performance to some of the others and hearing it back afterwards, it wasn't that great but I still thought their fans would have voted crazily.

I find them incredibly dull and would probably choose District3 to stay over them, and with them resembling 1D so much is there any point in them doing well? We don't exactly need copies of acts in the charts.

But based on performances they don't really deserve to go before a few of the other acts still in.

Plus, even though I was kind of glad to get a surprise bottom two, it also meant my fave Jade was majorly screwed up against them, so that kind of sucked. lol

The problem is, the boybands are both very generic so their only real fanbase comes from the tweens who support anyone going. With District 3 being so overwhelmingly bad this week, the tweens voted in their droves for them thinking they were more at risk and UJ got left behind.

Regardless of my shock at the bottom two, I think the judges gave Jade a really unfair time, on the basis that it was a sing-off, Jade should have been saved.

I know, genuine shocker that one.

District3 must be so chuffed, after being told week after week they're second fiddle to the other band!

Louis must be backpeddling like mad now
