X Factor finalists week.

I think the theme one week should be songs by previous X Factor finalists.

There are loads to choose from:

Leona Lewis
Olly Murs
JLS
Alexandra Burke
G4
Little Mix
One Direction
Cher Lloyd
Diana Vickers
Jedward

To name a few

It'd be a fantastic idea but I can't see it happening though sadly.

Don't think it would happen, there isn't that much material that can be covered to be honest. Also they will want to avoid comparisons to former contestants, which is why Louis is so insistent Union J don't cover One Direction for example

Can't see it happening but I'd love it if it did, I was hoping they were doing it when Olly was saying on Xtra Factor the theme was linked to him

Ooh I like it, although it could be a bit limiting and cliche, some of the contestants this year being way too similar to previous ones:

Ella - Perfect by Alexandra Burke or You Bring Me Joy by Amelia Lily
Lucy - Please Don't Let Me Go by Olly Murs

Jahmene - he'd just oversing something by Leona Lewis
James - When We Collide by Matt Cardle (or rather Biffy Clyro, but to fit it with the theme )
Rylan - Collide by Leona Lewis (just for the car crash lolz)

Christopher - That's My Goal by Shyane Ward
Kye - I don't actually know, only one I can think of is Run For Your Life but it would be far too ironic if he sang Matt Cardle lol

District 3 - No U Hang Up by Shayne Ward
Union J - With Ur Love by Cher Lloyd

Ella - Teach Me How To Be Loved or Shoulder to Shoulder- Rebecca Ferguson (giving her Leona or Alexandra's Hallelujah would be too obvious for me, at least with Rebecca she can do a slowish song but within her own range so it's not too samey-samey but it's not way out of her comfort zone).

Lucy - With Ur Love (acoustic) - Cher Lloyd (Thought about giving her an Olly song as it's happy-cheerful pop but thought this could show something a little different and give her another dimension, outside her genre. It'll be a interesting take on another artist who is pretty much the opposite to her).

Jahmene - Happy - Leona Lewis or Someone Wake Me Up - Joe McElderry (Leona might be obvious, but Happy might not be the clear choice. The Joe song was one of the only ones from his first album that stood out, mid tempo ballad; it'd show off his vast vocal range but the speed would stop any vocal gymnastics he might usually pull out).

James - Hold On- Aiden Grimshaw. (Was going to go for Run For Your Life but wasn't quite sure, something felt off with the Matt Cardle song so I thought James could put his own spin on an Aiden Grimshaw track, definitely think it would suit his style).

Rylan - Bad Boys/Broken Heels - Alexandra Burke or if he's going for a serious note That's My Goal- Shayne Ward (If Rylan does stand and sing a ballad next week, it cannot be too much of a risk or he might lose the 'fun act' vote and the judges might not like it, I couldn't think of a ballady track as I'm not 100% sure of how great his vocal range is; I've only heard him sing a We Found Love ballad, so maybe the Climb could be considered an option too? If he doesn't and goes for the fun side, I think the Alexandra tracks might be good for him, without being gimmicky).

Christopher -Against All Odds - Steve Brookstein (I really can't think; he'd probably cheese up Leona or Rebecca but I'm going to say because it's at least something he could do okay without the judges saying he made a good song cheesy.)
Kye - Starlight - Matt Cardle (Giving him Matt after the comparisons, might be throwing him under the bus but I genuinely think a Matt song choice is the best choice for Kye).

District 3 - Love You More/Proud - JLS (This would have the potential to be a massive comeback preformance for District 3 after last weeks averagefest singing. Would show off their harmonies well, which is their strong point and what advantage they have over Union J, it'd show off each members vocals and they'd all get equal shares - or if they didn't it'd compliment the lad in the baseball cap - I don't know what his name is well enough).

Union J - Heart Skips A Beat/Thinking of You - Olly Murs (Didn't want to give them One Direction or something; that, along with the Harry Styles lookalike, would probably land them in the bottom two. So I'd give them, Olly. They'd do this pretty well, Think they need to let the two stronger singers take the majority of the vocals, they don't have the strongest harmonies, possibly because they haven't been a unit for as long as District 3 but this would be pretty easy to unity on. And they could maybe even show off their dance moves a little.)

I can't believe I wrote all that

I'm trying to avoid giving them songs that were covered by the X Factor act, like the winners songs, etc.

Wonder if one of the bands could do Waterline, (I know, I know - Jedward). It's a pretty catchy song and it would probably get them votes from the teen-pop group that voted Jedward
