Should X Factor have a complete overhaul?

IMO I feel that The X Factor needs a complete overhaul. New judges, new live shows and (sorry Dermot) a new presenter.

Firstly this years judging panel should be scrapped. My ideal judging panel would be Cheryl, Will.I.Am, Simon and Leona Lewis. Now I doubt Simon would come back but I really hope that he does. I love Leona and thought she was great in the auditions. Also she would know where the contestants are coming from. And Will and Cheryl would be great. Cheryl because well we all love Chez and Will because he has a huge producing background and also we need an American!

Secondly I think that Dermot should move on. He has done it for a while and I think someone else should have a go. I think that Caroline Flack and Olly Murs would be perfect. They are great on The Xtra Factor and really up to date. Also I think 2 presenters would be a good idea.

Now I also think closed auditions should come back. I just feel that it was more about the singing and the audience couldn't throw the judges. Here is where people may disagree. I think like the USA and Aus XF the age should be lowered to 13. It will bring in a wave of new talent and attract a younger audience. And then following XFUSA they should make the categories Teens, Young Adults, Overs and Groups. And finally I think that there shouldn't be a sing off and it should either go straight to the judges or the whole public vote.

These are my ideas so tell me if you like them and what your opinions are?

It's coming, just for the 10th year.

Barlow has to chuck himself off a cliff first for the drama. Or be pushed.

Will is doing the Voice. Reggie confirmed it on Radio One.

But yeah, they need to change a lot. I think Dermot deserves to keep his job but actually I suppose it would work to change him since he's the main face of the show now I guess so changing him would send a clear message and a fresh start. Shame because with his dancing and everything he shows personality now and has a laugh.

Sounds painful. Couldn't they just be scrapped instead?

Have no novelty acts like on the US version.

Must this question be asked everytime a contestant has been kicked out?

Then I guess the answer must be yes.

It's not just from this weeks elimination I think that this years X Factor has been very poor and just needs a completely new and fresh feel.

I would like to see Simon back. Don't want to see Cheryl back.

Leona Lewis? Do you want people to sleep during the programme?

I think it should be scrapped and the TV channels start bringing back something better than this low budget low value rubbish.

The rounds should be like this, they are appalling at the minute and the over use of the audience is terrible.

Closed auditions - Sing in front of the judges only
Boot Camp Stage 1 - Like on the US version, the people left sing in front of the judges in a sing off.
Boot Camp Stage 2 - The people left now sing in front of an audience and the judges.
Judges Houses - Sing in front of one judge and their guest.
Live Shows - Same as what it is except change the format of the bottom 2 because the better act always seems to be eliminated...

I dont think the judges need changing, although Barlow out for someone with a sense of humour wouldnt be a bad thing.

It does need to rethink what it is. The joke acts used to be a sideshow in the opening weeks whilst the talent found its feet, now the joke acts are the show , giving a weaker singer a little help with a big production was Ok with jedward, they were the ones doing the dancing and so on, but now, Rylan just seems to stand in the middle of a load of people doing things, hes not singing well, it isnt him doing the dancing either, this started with cocozza, who also couldnt sing or anything at all, he was just there on the stage with everything going on around him.

I think the shows lost its way , its gone overboard trying to recreate the fun stuff but missed it by miles, the theme weeks as well seem to have become so generic its pretty much any song going, far too many dreary ballads that spent a couple of weeks in the charts the last five years and not enough classic well written songs that show off vocals well (and not just older songs, but there is very little outside the last few years on the show, its all become a bit samey whomever is performing for that reason, at least for me).

The sings offs , they seem to have even given up on pretending they are anything to do with who goes, so why bother, make them important or ditch them.

The show has been going years and in the end it's the same thing again and again. People naturally get bored. There's no cure to save it, whatever happens ratings will begin to fall as people no longer are that interested, or know whats coming. What reason is there to watch live shows? You know whats gonna happen really and you can catch it anytime in the week or after or youtube.

The judges don't make a difference right now, people were bored of simon and cheryl now people want simon and cheryl back. the show is simply been going too long with nothing new happenening.

I'd keep Louis & Nicole, and bring in Mel B or Cheryl (in that order) as a mentor with Simon returning as an impartial judge (compromise). If 68 year old Len Goodman can do it every week then there is no reason why Simon can't. Split the categories into males, females and groups.

Limit the places in bootcamp to 24 per category to give the auditions another level of tension, get rid of 12 after the first stage of bootcamp and get rid of another 6 at the second stage.

Leave judges houses as it is, and retain the wildcard twist too.

Leave the live shows more or less as they are (its the acts and judges that make it). But the results show needs a bit of work. Remove the judges vote, and structure the results show as- group performance, first guest, chat with judges, results, sing off, second guest, final result. The final result would be decided by a new public vote after the sing off.

agree - I don't think an overhaul is the issue. i think its tired, stale and predictable and has simply run its course now. I do think this year should be its last but I suspect next year will spell the end as its the magical 10th season

They should make next years series the last ever and have Simon back on the panel.
