Right so I have only tuned back into the X Factor after almost a 2 year break from it.

I was shocked at how awful Dermot's presenting skills have got.

He was doing these really camp hand gestures and sounds, the intro with him dancing to the thriller was completely cringe and why did he get so argumentative with some of the judges criticisms?

Maybe you guys don't recognize it because you all watch the show regularly but having not watched it and tuning back in again I saw a lot of flaws.

What annoys me is that he likes to grab and shove the people he is interviewing.

I would have agreed with that comment 2/3 years ago but he is no longer professional.

He is becoming a joke and an embarrassment to his once former self.

He seems a bit pissed off this year really, but then nearly everyone does.

I've always really liked him and enjoyed the stuff he did on Big Brother, which like Russell Brand's efforts often made it all worthwhile, IMO.

I'm always happy, for purely visual reasons, to see him on the screen...but, as soon as I saw that "dancing," routine being included in the X-Factor, I was very disappointed and thought it had stopped, but caught it again the other night.

Why is he doing it?

It's naff and something I'd've thought he wouldn't've agreed to....
But then, it seems, the harlotry involved in this show isn't limited to the contestants, or the judges..

Or perhaps he jumped at the chance?

Aw I like Dermot. He's the solitary voice of sanity (even with the cringetastic dancing) amongst all the madness.

I remember the time when he first had a go at Louis a couple of seasons ago and Louis came back with something like "That's why I'm a judge and you're a presenter Dermott." .....(not that, that says a great deal)....and Dermott looked so crestfallen, I doubted he'd ever summoned up the courage to have a go again..

Rich.

dermots gestures are more of an inside joke if you havent watched in 2 years
nicole brought it.. when she comments sometimes she does that gesture and clicks her fingers.. and the '2 words' sorta joke as well. thats why you probably dont get it

P.S i love dermot

he says 'alright' at the start and end of almost every sentence...I would have thought it could have been coached out of him after all this time.

He is just getting more camp and cringey as the shows go on.

I stopped bothering with him when he started back-chatting the judges, questioning their decisions.

The "judges" aren't exactly the most qualified of people, but Dermot has zero knowledge or experience in this field, his opinion is irrelevant and annoying.

Never rated him as an entertainment presenter. Rarely smiles and has no warmth to his character

Dermot is one of the few remaining good things about the show.

I think he is a brill presenter from BBLB and now. He is very warm and has been having a laugh with the dancing. I also think it's funny that none of the judges have Simons old very expensive dressing room. He gave it to Dermot.

I love Dermot, wish he could come back to BB! I think Dermot is probably the best and most underrated thing about XF, as others have also said.

I think last season he was pissed about not being chosen for US X-Factor. But after witnessing Steve's debacle, I think he's just relieved and being silly this season. Have a hunch he won't come back.

He reminds me of a pig. Don't like his personality either - very snidey and patronising to contestants.

Personally i dont think he is as wooden as he used to be! how he used to present was awful, still dont like him, but he is bearable now! not a patch on kate thornton though
Think if the show is having a make over it would be a perfect oputunity to get rid.... not as if he is loyal to the show he openly admitted he wanted to leave the show last year and go to US version...
