Boyband opera group G4 have won a record contract of their own despite losing out to Steve Brookstein in the X Factor contest.

The classical quartet are joining SONY MUSIC and their manager Louis Walsh claims they are on a better deal than Steve

....Hi emzy, well ITV news are a reputable news agency......possibly they may be jumping the gun slightly......still think it IS imminent. And the good news is that if it is indeed true, the 3 month contractual tie-in won`t apply is Sony/BMG sponsored the show.

My mum heard on the news on the radio this morning that Sony had signed them, so I guess it's true!!!!!!

Hi penny, I will be surprised if they allow G4 to release anything until after the tour, it would make a mockery of what Simon said about only the winner being signed - and the show has become a big enough mockery as it is

Strange how they were on tv this morning saying " we have heard we are meant to be signing a record deal today but we know nothing about it"

Well, congratulations to G4. Perhaps now, the G4 fans will stop their disgusting treatment of Steve and concentrate on supporting their own act, or do you want blood next?

Well, like I said before, even tho' I wasn't a Steve fan in the slightest (soul isn't really my thing), I've never been nasty about him - that's SO not what I'm like.

I don't think much of the treatment of Steve has necessarily been from G4 fans, and certainly the majority have been supportive. Unfortunately there is always going to be a select few who just look for rows and cause trouble.

Congratulations to the boys though, can't wait for the first single!!!

.....Natira, would you care to give us examples of the "supposed" disgusting treatment of Steve by G4 fans. I can categorically say on behalf of all Team G4 members, we have never said anything untoward about Steve - indeed lots of us popped over to Team Steve to offer congratulations.

Hi I'm new here. My mum is a massive G4 fan and although I am a total Tabby fan I also like G4. I think it's great they've got a record deal anyway and I hope they do really well in the future.

Echo the congrats to G4. All they need now is a decent manager and not Louis 'Potato Head' Walsh and they'll do just fine.

I actually think Louis will be a great manager...he won't turn them into another Westlife, he KNOWS they're different. And I love Creep (don't know the original, lol - not being a Radiohead fan myself).

ive never treated Steve disgustingly... not all G4 fans want to start fights.
