I posted a thread about this last night that had three pages of replies but was deleted, can someone explain why?

We were having a good discussion about whether aspects of X Factor's treatment of it's gay contestants was homphobic, ie making them sing straight songs or behave like asexual panto dames.

Any other views welcomed.

Its not just the Xfactor that's guilty of it though. Mark from Westlife was forced to hide his sexuality for years, same with the poor lad from Boyzone who passed asway. Ricky Martin only announced his homosexuality years after his career had ended. Louis from 1D will be making the same announcement in a decades time*. Its just the way the industry works.

*My cousin went to school with him and I've mentioned it before. Its a well known fact round where we live. Also another thing about XF, the lengths they go through to give him a pretend girlfriend, who he's been with 'years' according to the show.
