This is what I have noticed, people are viewing each of the performances more on you tube now. It is probably to do with 2 things:-

Adverts AND The time the show is on, as people go out on Saturday nights.

However the you tube views are much higher than previous years. I wonder how many watch it on the ITV Player

Or why put yourself through the whole thing if people are only interested in 1 or 2, and there's a general lack of likeability and charisma about them all anyway. The whole show has a negative air about it, even Dermot seems to have had enough.

People who have given up may still be seeing what their favourite has done to maybe join the show again when there's less contestants and it doesn't feel 7 hours long.

Great to see the youtube views so high though shows there is still alot of interest in the shows. I think you tube views should also be taken into account in some capacity

They aren't up at all!

Compare them to 2010! Cher Lloyds Audition alone, has more views than any of the contestants video (Even add Lucy's together and Cher's audition still has more than all of Lucys, and in fact, everyone's.)

In 2010, Cher, Matt, Rebecca, One Direction would constantly get over a million views within days.

They are down, along with the ratings.

Well Cher's audition video has been picking up views for over two years now, including those searching for her now that she has had international success including people in America.

The 2012 contestants have had their videos up for just two months.

No they're down. I remember a good audition would get 2 million views in 2 days. Now they get 400k or so.

I posted about viewing figures earlier - apparently down by 4 million from their peak and dropping off by several hundred thousand each week. Its interesting that xfactor has given up offering lame excuses for the fall in viewers - eg, its the weather, its the olympics etc.

I think lots of people are sky+ now to watch the show in 1 hour instead of 2 but I think the simple fact is that people are losing interest hence not tuning in for the live shows

Of course, but Cher reached over 20 million in 2010.

Like i said, each week Matt, Rebecca, Cher and One Direction would get over a million views weekly.

Cher had Empire State of Mind and Just Be Good To Me both go over 2 million in a week. Stay went over 4 million in a week.

Youtube views are down this year, as they were last year. In 2010 people would say "oh...she got 4 million views, 5 million" etc. This year we have "Ella gets 500 000 views on video" or whatever. So how anyone can say youtube views are higher than normal, is beyond me.

Even in 2009 - Stacey, Danyl, Joe and Olly were all getting relatively high youtube views compared to 2011 and 2012!

They are WAY down, even on last year which would have been way down on 2010.

Halloween show comparison from the threads at the time, 2011:

Quote:
“Janet 145,010
Little Mix 121,019
Misha 101,086
Craig 99,519
Sophie 91,534
The Risk 88,124
Marcus 81,102
Kitty 80,974
Frankie 80,140
Johnny 74,388”

2012:

Quote:
“1.Ella-58,288.
2.Union J-50,485.
3.James-53,656.
4.Rylan-42,341.
5.Jahmene-41,116.
6.District3-39.352.
7.Kye-35,656.
8.Jade-29,876.
9.Chris-5,999”

Why is the OP making such dramatic claims without checking facts first?

Hmmm!

YouTube views are pretty much on par with last year, up in some cases.

For example, Little Mix's week 7 performance of Don't Let Go is only at 1,400,000 whereas Ella's week 1 performance is at 3,500,000.

No, that's not true at all. You can tell by clicking 'Video Statistics'. It's the button right next to the number of views.

Were these comparisons made the same number of days after the show?

There were 2 video's out at, one reached about between 10 - 20 million. The other reached between 15 - 25. You do the math.

YouTube views take a while to update though, and never at the same time. The views from 2012 are probably before an update considering Ella is now at 287k and James is at 533k.

They were both done on the Sunday after the show.

That's enough time and you are comparing like with like. It's massively down, just like the viewing figures. And these are the best stats we have to go on so far, and the OP has supplied nothing to back up the rather dramatic claims.

Where it is now doesn't matter.

this year performances were only uploaded 2 nights ago.. gotta remember that. Last yr's have been out for a year and some viewers like myself, watch some last year performances every now and again

I see, just seen one of their descriptions has 'Cher Lloyd - Oath (Lyric Video) ft. Becky G' spammed in the description so it looks like whoever posted it has been getting it artificially inflated. In any case with two versions it is going to come up as a related video more.

Those are the views on the Sunday after the show, taken from a thread at the time.

Comparing like with like.

No it's not, last year the views might have updated at 8.45pm and this year it might have updated at 5.04pm...

Well in the absence of any stats saying different, this is all we have comparing like with like. And it's a rather BIG discrepancy, and this would all be way down on 2010 anyway. You are speculating, this is evidence.

I could go and dig out more, but it should really be down to the OP to supply it to back up the claims in their thread and their thread title.

Otherwise it just seems a bit strange to me personally.

It doesn't matter when people watch, whether it's the next day or three days later. If they watch they watch.

Most of the videos from Halloween week (the same week) last year haven't even reached 300k yet, whereas this year most of the videos will probably pass it in a few days. They're probably down on 2010 but definitely not 2011.

Why are you arguing?

It's clear that youtube views are down. We have 2 performances getting views that are just ok.

Last year we had Amelia, Little Mix, Misha and Janet all getting quite a bit more youtube interest.

Year before we had Cher, getting the most X Factor Views ever, and One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle all getting into the millions weekly.

Youtube views are down. Fact.

Speculation is the very opposite of objective.

Want to disprove it, find more stats comparing like with like. Like the OP should have done in the first place.

I don't think you are going to find them after those figures though. People don't really care about this bunch, that's been obvious for weeks and reflected in no matter what they do ratings won't go up.
