I don't care enough to go looking for figures.

Neither do I, I just like checking claims that seem odd. Rather than assuming it's right.

Now we wait for the OP, after all they are the one who is meant to care enough to start a thread over it

Edit: Re-reading the OP actually it's very PR-like, in defence of the falling ratings and media coverage of it. I hope we are not being astroturfed.

Isn't the OP also the one who tried to whip up interest with their 'back-stage' leaks?

Quote:
“Astroturfing refers to political, advertising or public relations campaigns that are designed to mask the sponsors of the message to give the appearance of coming from a disinterested, grassroots participant.

Astroturfing is intended to give the statements the credibility of an independent entity, by withholding information about the source's financial connection. The term is a derivation of AstroTurf, a brand of synthetic carpeting designed to look like natural grass.”

I hope not, it gets everywhere on the Internet these days. Especially popular forums.

Yes that's right she did although I don't think there's much need to whip up interest in this forum. The majority of the people on here watch the show already hence the reason why we like to discuss it.

Astroturfing is often aimed at the most cynical places. The hardcore fans.

To influence them gives the biggest boost in PR, because those fans talk most about the show online. At the end of the day they want people talking and to keep them watching. Especially when pressure is on the show about ratings, or to buy something, or to go watch a film. It's an underhand practise, so seems odd but that's why it goes on

Not saying this is definitely an example of it, but it's a bit of an odd pattern and this thread is making very dramatic claims with nothing to back it up.
