Favourite performance across all singing competitions
Taking into account the X factors, idols, the voice etc what is your favourite performance and why? (if you can explain it that is)
I know this is an X Factor forum but I imagine most replies will be X factor contestants anyway. If you've got a link stick it in, i'm seeing if I missed any great performances! Now I think about it I don't even know if I can narrow it down to one! Although I know Haley singing Bennie and the Jets would come pretty high. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAvACrWry8s I love how her popularity just grew as people started to recognise her, natural performer. |

This is really hard. There's been some amazing performances and I'm likely to forget some. I don't really watch other singing shows any more. The X Factor is enough for me so most of my list will be XF contestants.
Anyway, my personal favorites in no particular order: 1. Josh Krajcik - Jar of Hearts 2. Drew (X Factor US) - Just a Dream. 3. Drew - Fix You 4. Janet Devlin - Fix You 5. Cher Lloyd - Stay 6. Cher Lloyd - Empire State of Mind 7. Cher Lloyd- Love the way you lie 8. LYLAS - Impossible. (Judges houses but I still loved it) 9. Misha B - Rolling in the Deep. 10. Little Mix - E.T. 11. Janet Devlin - Chasing Cars. All of mine are fairly recent I guess you can tell from the list what kind of music I'm into as well. Other people are likely to list amazing vocalists like Leona and Alexandra but they're just not my thing.Sorry about the long list btw. It was hard to decide on just a few. |

She had quite a few superb performances.
" Summertime " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI8XSDXYFNI "What are you doing the rest of your life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgRJImdIloo "Heard it through the grapevine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7uLIjOje1o "Signed sealed delivered " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u92NNJgQKw To name a few but this performance from Fantasia in the American Idol 3 final was phenomenal , she turned what could have been a drippy song into a performance Freddie Mercury would have been proud of . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRNIsY1ha3E and a couple of her return performances http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIjUo...feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzLH7...e=results_main Watching those performances back remind me how great the show used to be in the early days . |

Haley Reinhart - House of The Rising Sun
She had quite a few to choose from as well, easily my favourite contestant I've seen on any of the talent shows. |

Fantasia - Summertime.
Nothing else even comes close. 1.Fantasia - Fool in Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXoyOkh70Sc I don't think i have seen anything in the UK that would even compare to the raw, natural talent that Fantasia showed in both of those performances, her Fool in Love performance was phenomenal! Summertime and Fool in Love are definitely my top two. 2.Adam Lambert - Mad World http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfR0JGWX62E Has to be one of the most legendary performances on one of these shows ever, eerily haunting, totally sublime, and just what a voice! Aiden Grimshaw did a great job with the same version but I think the orginal stands up as the best! 3. Rhydian Roberts - Somwhere http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuM4CZjsR4g I think this is the best performance from XF in the UK, it was one through the years that I just though Wow after I heard it. Rhydian was fab! 4. David Cook - Always by my Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPT8gqmcqlk I think this is one of the true examples of a singer one of these shows taking a song, and TRULY! making it their own, it was a fantastic interpretation. 5. Elliot Yahmin - A song for you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yKG0M4Gx64 Just so so beautiful, in a season with many great performances this was my favourite, just so stunningly natural, simple and beautiful |

you people have not mentioned Leona. Seriously?
Her performing summertime, sorry seems to be the hardest word, bridge over troubled water, all by myself, over the rainbow, i will always love you, without you, a moment like this and the take that duet was amazing. one of her performances is probably better than most the vocalists on these shows put together. And its really shameful to think people are mentioning Cher Lloyd as a favourite performance. She is a chav and is shite. Simple as. |
