Cheryl Cole has a great pop voice
Four great pop songs.

Fight For This Love
Promise This
Parachute
Call My Name
I know she's probably auto-tuned to death but she has a better and more pleasing studio pop voice and is more distinctive than Jessie J. |

She's alright. I like her songs and she does have a good voice. Not a great voice but a good one. I don't get why you think Jessie J isn't distinctive though. I think she is very distinctive.

Her voice isn't anything special and all her songs would probably sound better if they had stronger singers on them, but I am not a fan of her because of her voice anyway, it is her performances I like, mimed or not.
I do like her tone though on songs like A Million Lights, Didn't I etc. |

The only thing that ever bugged me about Cheryl Cole and it was entirely not her fault was the media mainly Heat overexposing her, fawning over her and calling her a national treasure to the point it made me sick
![]() I do think she is a brilliant performer too

This is just another attempt to slag off Jessie J is any way. Cheryl can't sing live. When it comes to vocal ability, that is pretty damn important. Lets have both of them record one shot acoustic albums and then compare them.

Cheryl Cole has a great pop star face and that's why she's managed to have a career despite barely being able to hold a tune

You can barely tell her voice apart from other generic pop singers. Even an auto-tuned Rihanna has a unique voice.

please don't compare Jessie J and Cheryl cole. That's just an insult to Jessie's great voice and artistry. Whether u like JJ or not she's probably one of britains most talented popstars right now vocally and songwriting ability.

I like Cheryl's voice too. She doesn't have any power to her voice but she has a lovely tone. Quote:

Kylie Minogue has a "great pop," voice..Diana Ross had a "great pop," voice..both of these and many more don't/didn't have to rely on auto-tuning in order to make them sound half decent and Minogue can put across her stuff stripped down and live, as she demonstrated on the Jonathan Ross show the other night.. She isn't even in the same league as Jessie J, certainly not in terms of performing live, or in writing her own songs. To what extent Cheryl Cole has an input into "writing," her own songs would be interesting to me.. I'd hazzard a guess that she's not far removed from the Victoria Beckham school of "song-writing." I'd love to see her appear on Jools..but somehow, I'd bet she's not on his guest list anytime soon, unlike other great pop artists, past and present. I'd also bet a pound to a penny that, if she ever returned to the X-Factor, you'd be unlikely to see her getting on stage with one of her acts in order to sing a duet..because, if she did, she'd be exposed for the 4th rate singer that she is and they'd totally embarrass her.. In terms of gimmicks, lighting, dancing and other distractions from her mediocrity, she's in about the same league as Rylan..only she wears a dress. Who knows, he may get round to that eventually too, he's gotten close to wearing a hijab, or whatever that monstrosity he wore was when he was in Dubai! ![]() Rich. x |

![]() She doesnt even have a good talking voice I knew a positive thread about someone would create controversy and that's why it was important to make it. At the end of a busy day when you want to relax to some music or out with friends you really shouldn't be concerned about whether they can sing live, acoustically or whatever. It's about that pop song. |

PS: Didn't mean to pick on Jessie J - just that she is contemporary of Cheryl Cole (pop singer, reality show judge) and the first person I thought of.

Pop music has always been basically about singles.
I'm sure that would be breathtaking news for: 1. The Beatles. 2. The Beach Boys. 3. Any number of people who came out of the Phil Spector stable, or the Motown stable. 4. ABBA...all of whom, at some stage or another were considered to be "pop," artists, but some of whom went on to demonstrate that they had more in their armoury than being just "pure-pop," not that there's anything wrong with that.. However, many, if not all of the above and many more over the history of pop were great live as that was a large part of getting their music across to people. Rich, x |

She would love a song like Fight For This Love or Call My Name. |
