They got of lightly. If Saint Steve had been there they would have been fired and fed to the lions

LOL
![]() I'm guessing Forstall is the sacrificial lamb for the Maps cock up. As for Browett... I never understood why he was hired in the first place, given his past with Dixons... |

Analysts are so funny. Getting rid of his own guy is "stamping his authority"! More like admitting his big hire was a huge mistake. |

There's also the row over skeuomorphism in iOS, which seems to have caused a rift between different factions in Apple. Some of the features in iOS 6 look wrong for an Apple product so hopefully Jony Ive will get the company's interface policy back on track. |

Since when did getting sacked mean "leaving in a year"?

Depends on the contract.
Many senior staff in large companies are on 12 months notice - on both sides of the contract. How it is dealt with will vary - most usually gardening leave - though some companies will create "busy work" for the leaving person to keep them close enough to keep an eye on as they will know future strategies. Keeping them out of the loop, but un-available to third parties protects their interests. |

It's nice that Apple apologized. I just wish they come out with better products to make up for it. Here's to hoping.
