Whilst I agree with you that he wants to make money, he also wants to be seen as an honest businessman. As far as I recall, he made the point that this is the "only show that garentees only the winner will get a contract".

If he goes back on this, his name will be mud in the industry (in Music and especialy TV production"

I doubt Simon would let any chance of making any money go past him.....I agree with you.

My one and only problem about any of this is the timescale.
Since no-one has been able to confirm an early release for G4 either from contract or single date release,I plan to take it all as Louis hype.Hopefully he will not be offered a second contract now by the production company.

I've never disputed the validity of G4 being contracted.....just the comment 'the loser walks away with nothing' which seems to have applied for all of 48hours.

No doubt though if sony/bmg signs both, simon will just say he was misunderstood or something ... anyway, I would love for G4 to get a record deal!!

I know it may not sound fair to some, but simon is afterall a business man... he has also done this before with will and gareth...”

yes he did it with gareth, but he didnt say it was only the winner over and over again that would get the contract on pop idol, plus simon was employed by simon fuller for the pop idol franchise were xfactor is simon cowells baby

I also think that if people cared enough to vote on a TV show, why don't (over 18's) care when it comes to the issues that really matter, voting in elections, war demonstrations...etc....

Are you being pedantic?

What I mean is, surveys have been done where people have confessed to voting in lots of TV shows but showed great apathy when it came to their voting habits in elections.

Yes, as far as multi voting is concerned, you are correct. Now would you like to discuss why people who vote (even multi vote) in RTV do't vote in the issues that matter?

Yes, very probably true. But surely the only way to improve this is to vote and "make a difference". And as we saw in the US in their last two elections...every single vote counts.

Am I right in stating that there has still been no announcement about the timescale of this 'contract'?

Anyone who spent £30 happily on voting care to comment?
