I dunno if Christian gets as far as the airport..I imagine not because screentime :sleep: and for the other reasons you said! Nina said the exit is 'special' and I'm starting to think the very fact they'll be leaving together is special in the context of a soap.

It's not about weighing one bad thing against the other...it's saying both have made mistakes but it always appears to be the same one doing the grovelling or making up. Syed has already apologised a lot over Danny and I daresay will do a lot more as he should as you rightly say. I wish we'd seen a hundreth as much of Christian apologising to Syed when he's been an idiot or cruel or over pressurizing and then not acknowledging his part in the results of that pressure.
Syed has always forgiven him quickly and didn't even mention the ONS stand he took to their bed. Yes techinically they were over but it was done in a way for maximum hurt so don't tell me it didn't. And if they were over why make sure Syed knew?

Hmm I want Christian's flaws acknowledged- particularly the way he has been known to pressurise Syed and while he's been wonderful on this account lately, it does contribute to a relationship dynamic where Syed feels he can't be open and honest about his failings- but the focus HAS to be on Syed. Christian has really done very little wrong these past few months, while Syed really has made a mess of everything in his life. But at the same time I don't just want it to be a one-sided attack on Syed. So, basically, I want it weighted in Syed's favour because his behaviour needs explaining the most, but I don't want Christian to be neglected either. Because it's going to be a look at the past 3 years, not just the past 3 months, and Christian's been far from saintly over the past couple of years. But if it's 50/50 it won't be equal because Syed has behaved much worse than Christian has lately.

I want Syed to be HONEST about how he feels - suffocated by Christian whatever.
But bringing up Christian's past behaviour just seems facile to me. Christian has PROVED himself as a loving, reasonable and supportive partner.
Syed has failed at that. And this is the issue.
The reasons for Syed's failure may go back to the past, but I hardly think that this behaviour as a cause of the present debacle holds much water really.

I'm sure you used to say when Christian behaved badly that it was because of his insecurity about Syed because of his past behaviour... before they got together.
Is it only sometimes that the past is allowed to affect what happens now...or only when it's Christian?

I agree but all that was last year. In the cast of BF, it was 16 months ago! I can easily dismiss the ONS because they were over. Ive only ever struggled with BF. I desperatly wanted an apology and explanation from Christian to Syed, as I felt he owed him one. The audience too. However we never got it. I doubt we're going to ever get it. Rhumba is right, past is past.
It may appear that same that one is only doing the grovelling or making up but this time it's only consistent and right that Syed does. Christian should not be grovelling AT ALL in my opinion. If this was last year, I'd agree with you but time has moved on and I think we're meant to assume they sorted things out offscreen... and even if they haven't, it would not fit in with the logistics of the current story now.
I can see Pete bringing it up in the script, which is fine but the bulk of the running has to come from Syed. He cheated and lied on his wedding day. The bulk of the chasing has to come from him.

I know what you mean. It's just that this is an ending to their storyline as a whole, as well as to this (dire) story, so I don't want it to focus entirely on the past couple of months, but their relationship as a whole. Also I don't think it'll be particularly interesting to watch Christian attack Syed and Syed hang his head in shame or whatever. Syed has behaved terribly and most of the focus should be on that, but I don't want all of it to be. But, yeah, I absolutely don't want a tit-for-tat 'okay, well, I cheated on you two days before our wedding and lied to you, but remember when you kicked me out for not being ready for kids a year and a half ago?' sort of thing.

whome? totally get what you're saying and I hope in the conversation in the AB we genuinely do cover the main bases of their love story (sob) so far - and that does inc. some poor behaviour on C's part too, which, IMO, contributed to Syed's reticence recently.
BUT I don't expect it, and given that Syed's wrongdoings have driven the whole leaving arc (eugh) and, in a nutshell, Syed's story from the start has been about accepting his sexuality and choosing to be with the one he loves I can see, in EE's mind, thinking Syed realising once and for all Christian is all he'll ever want, need and love and chasing after him is like the best ending ever.

It's because Christian has behaved very well for a long time, and even during the Syed debacle.
It's SYED'S problem to search out why he had sex with another man, and lied, and all the rest of it.
That doesn't seem to me to be to do with Christian except in a very tangential allusive doesn'tholdwater way.
It's about Syed's feelings.
Thus, he has to deal with it, and grovel and chase if he wants Christian.
If he doesn't - then up to him.
