Evening

Howdy All

Hope everyone is well. Been LOADS of posts since I was last on (woo, like old times) and I've not read them all but I bet there was some fab insight.

Last night was rather angsty but I thought it was good. Both suffering and hurt and kind of closed off needing other people to tell them what to do (try harder etc). It's of course going to get worse the longer it gets left but I'm still confident that they'll leave together, happy rnough and ready to make a go of it. They cant survive without each other.

Excited for the Pete episodes I think he'll do well, he does like to reference the past so it will be interesting to see what parts they discuss.
I loved last night too, it was painful to watch at times but really good angst! They're so miserable without each other. I especially loved the scene in the flat with Yasmin, it was just so painful, so real. so awkward. Johnny and Marc are just fantastic together aren't they. EE have been so lucky to have them!

Regarding JT - I want Julia's Theme in the sense that I don't want their ending to be a duff duff ending; ie on a cliffhanger or another one of those 'twists' So basically, I want their ending to need/suit Julia's Theme, not because I think they deserve the theme itself. /not sure that makes any sense but it sort of does in my head!
Makes totally sense and that's pretty much where I'm at. It's not a matter of whether Chryed deserves one or not, but a duff duff is very a "what happens next" ending, where as JT is more final and poignant. If Chryed leave with JT, it leaves the impression of togetherness and it being about the long haul.

Yeah! I'm not really someone who thinks characters 'deserve' JT or holds it in particular high regard - even though it's a beautiful piece of music. To me it's when the duff duffs don't suit, however often that may be. I never got why people complained it got used too much

But yes, essentially I want Chryed to have an ending where JT is only fitting.

I want JT, or more specifically I want Chryed to have the last scene and it not be a duff duff. ie it's resolved as best it can be

Also I dont want them to come back properly as I want them kept out of harms way and soap is harmful. If they could make the odd guest appearance that would be nice but I'd worry that if they couldn't get both Marc and Johnny we'd then get a line about how they split up (as oppsed to one cant get away coz of the kids, is ill etc). It would be nice if the Masoods and/or Roxy and Lucy mentioned them occasionally, but again only if it's positive! In a year or two I'd love to hear that they've adopted. I'd also like to hear that Syed has made a go of something and is doing really really well (maybe he and Christian have set up a fitness centre with gym and massage) and has paid back loads of money to Mas/Zainab/Tam. All of it with interest.

But you know, I want never gets apparently

Yup! This.

If a duff duff works, so be it, but I really don't know how it can.

Then again we could all be speculating about a non-event because most likely Tanya will get it.

Yeah I couldn't give a toss. Except when Amira got it, that was ridiculous. Especially because she was leaving with a duff-duff worthy secret. Whatever.

Anyway, in theory, I want the last scene to be of Christian and Syed 'cos it'd be, like, a huge insult to Johnny and Marc if they didn't even get the last scene of their final ever episode. But if they're not getting Julia's Theme I'd kind of rather they didn't get a duff-duff? Because it just wouldn't be fitting- duff-duffs are for dramatic things, tune-in-next-time things, but this is the end of their story. And it's going to be... relatively happy as EE exits go too. And there are two pretty big characters leaving, so totally warrants a JT.

Basically, Julia's Theme or nothing. But not really 'cos I want them to have the final scene no matter what, really.

This is what I want to.

I think most mentions will come from the Masoods as they have greatest tie to them.

I do hope hear from time to time that they're doing ok and I would love for Syed to be doing financially well too - not just for him as a character - but to pay back his parents.

I'm stil uncomfortable with Syed leaving, having made his parents broke in the process. He may not have the money now, but it would be nice some time in the future Masood recieves a cheque through the post with the money Syed owes him.

I also love the idea of Chryed starting their own little family and adopting. (providing Syed is totally for it of course  )

ETA - and yes, no comebacks at all for me. Once they're gone I don't want them back.

They were so good last night. I mean, they always are, but... always worth mentioning. This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous and unbelievable but Johnny and Marc still managed to make me feel for their characters last night. Quite a feat for Marc, it must be said, considering how utterly unsympathetic Syed should be.

I wouldn't mind a guest appearance from one or both for a wedding or funeral or whatever, but, yeah, no proper returns. Run as fast as your legs can carry you, boys.

awwww yeah, it would be great to hear how they're doing from time to time I can totally see them adopting in a couple of years and creating their own little family together, I can see them with their baby in a pushchair, walking to pick Yasmin up from school and when Yas is a teenager, I can see Christian being really protective and vetting all her boyfriends/girlfriends but in a non Derek way and I can so see Chryed with their own successful business together as well.

Evening

Afternoon

Nothing new really, but might as well make the most of the spoilers while we can

What's On TV website

15th November - Syed and Christian won't talk things through, despite encouragement from their families. Zainab and Lucy get them in the restaurant and lock them in to talk. After an honest chat, Christian sadly leaves for the airport. Is Syed about to lose the love of his life?
Thanks!

I wonder if the scene will mirror the one where Christian leaves for Barcelona? Apart from the 'you'll fine your Syed one day babe' of course.

Oh I won't be watching either, at least not regularly. I'm hoping someone else who is can tell me.

Yep guest appearances are fine but that's where it stops for me. I don't want permanent returns, whether they return seperately (McDean) or together (Kalfie).

You just can't trust tptb and their latest storyline is proof of that.

Chryed have been tainted for me but I don't think they're completely destoryed as a couple. As viewer, not a fan, I could get past a one night stand with other couples, even Kalfie, during thier original stint, so I'm sure as viewer I can get past this. It's only as a fan, I'm struggling.

It's good that Chryed are leaving while they can. It could have got a whole lot worse, even if you have to question if that's even possible with this current tripe.

BiB: They'll be fine as long as Syed's not allowed to set up his own business. Or buy stuff to sell. Or invest with people. Or perhaps even have access to their bank accounts.

I'd genuinely love them to have their own little business though. Or Christian to have his own gym at least. And I'd like Syed to be successful at something career-related.

Syed screwed up but he did manage to help Tam out with the mortgage initially. He's not *that* bad, really. He just needs to be honest when things go wrong.

That's why it has to be a Chryed business, not a Syed business!

Although I do think his massage thing was a success. It only really fizzled out cos of the problems at the salon, not really cos of his business. I think he's successful at something he generally enjoys (massage) but less successful at things he doesn't (tat stall, selling cleaning products).

Although I've got a brilliant idea for a new business for him. EASY TIGER - Syed's Sex Guru business

Hey Danny was keen! (vom)

I don't get why he kept going back for Syed. Yes he fancied him and got a taste (double vom) but he's a slick, slutty banker type who could have whoever he wanted in theory. Draama and power games.

Has Danny left then?

He's not mentioned in the spoilers so I think that's it for him.

Though, I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion, here but it would be good on EastEnders part to try and get Gary Lucy back. I think Danny would be a good interesting, different kind of villian, especially with the power struggles and means to control.

I really think he's the kind of villian Albert Square needs, not these annoying gangster Derek types.

Of course I am pissed at what he's done to Chryed, but really the bulk of my venom is directed at BK now , and I think as standalone character, he'd work.

Very rare standalone characters work. The last one that was such a big hit IMO was Steve Owen. Danny has some shades of him.

Not a Danny fan btw.

Once Yasmin hits school age, she'll probably be with Amira Monday to Friday and come to Chryed at the weekends - that's how it works for most seperated parents unless they live very close by.

I also see Christian as the 'fun' parent and Syed as the more serious parent when it comes to homework and boyfriends etc.

No, I agree! GL was great in the role once they got past all the cringey terrible flirting at the start, the character was pretty good I thought (in spite of some horrible, horrible lines :sleep! My hatred of all this has nothing to do with the character at all, really! I enjoyed him in the latter half when he was being all threatening and menacing, anyway, it really worked.

I think he felt humiliated by Syed. He's used to men bending over backwards for him (no pun intended! ), not having a quick fumble that's over in minutes and then being rejected 3 times plus a punch in the gob as well. he's just an idiot, thinking that he knows Syed better than Christian. Like Danny would have taken Syed in when he had no money and literally just the clothes on his back
