Delurking to say this is amazing, the Chryed i loved all seems so long ago now but that clip just made it feel like yesterday and my eyes watered a little. I love the "never let me go" repeat with all the times they almost did let each other go, and I love all the speech. Wonderful.

I just watched it again and I have to say... I'm not ready for this to end. I've spent so much time, since it was announced, wondering how badly EE are going to f**k it up, that I haven't actually realised how badly I'm affected by it. I'm almost in tears again, and when it reaches the end of the vid, with all the hand-holds, I get chills. I have a feeling I'm going to be watching the full C&S story again, over the next few weeks.

No PO spoilers today. This is going to take a while getting used to.

I can't believe they'll be gone in two weeks.

Although I am ready, and will be relieved, it still does hit me with sadness.

I, sorry - we - have been avid followers for such a long time and it's not just about the boys but the fandom too. I've just realised, what I was also meant to say in the "how Chryed changed my life" at the con panel, was that this is the best fandom I've ever been a part of. I don't just say that because I'm here but it's the genuine truth. It's not just that Chryed have changed my life, but the fandom too.

Also interviewing Yusef and all the fundraising last weekend, gave me such a huge buzz, that I confessed everything to my mum and sister when I got home They still don't know that I went to a "ChryedCon" but did say it was related to the EastEnders storlyline. I told them about the auction, the cause, interviewing Yusef, the money raised and they were impressed and proud.

Guh,there is so much I am going to take with me when Chryed go

*emotional moment*

I know we've been shat on the last two years but we've had something so positive, so inspirational, so evolving, that whatever happens now, it won't take away the enourmity of it's impact and influence.

I can't believe in 2 weeks we will see Chryed leave, it's really sad and it probably won't seem real until they're actually gone. It's been made all the worst that this storyline has been more about enduring than enjoying it. I feel I have only seen glimpses of the real Chryed in the last several weeks, I loved the actual CP ceremony, JP & ME were amazing, I just hope it's not tainted forever with upcoming events. I better go or I will be late !
P.S Great post Katrina and lovely sentiments.

bib - I'm not sure it'll even seem real then.

I'm a life long EE fan not just a Chryed fan and don't plan to stop watching after they go so for me I think it'll take a while to get used to them not being around anymore

I’m still on the fence about whether to tune in or not once Chryed leave.

Like you I’ve been watching for most of my life. It’s just, I don’t find anything gripping me and to be honest. I find the show in a really bad place right now.

It was like when Shannis left. I mean yeah my favourite characters left but then back then, as in 2006 it was diabolical. I couldn’t force myself to sit through it.

I only returned to EE in autumn 2007 where we saw the arrival of the Mitchells Sisters, the Masoods and of course the Beale Stalker storyline kicked off. The quality of the episodes improved vastly. The show was given fresh blood and all of a sudden, I was actually seeing interesting storylines play out.

Just like how I tuned out between 05-07, I will most likely be dipping in and out again, probably watching the odd couple of episodes a month and when something takes my interest, I’ll probably watch more regularly.

Honestly speaking here, Chryed and to a slightly lesser extent the Masoods, are the only thing tieing me to the show right now. I can’t say I care for anyone or anything else right now so I see no point in me following once they leave.

Morning

So strange that the boys will be leaving in 2 weeks.

I know I will be very emotional and upset. Even though it is right for them to go and away from Walford they can be safe in our imaginations away from the random, uncaring whims from tptb, it is still the end of an era that they are going, and I will miss them terribly.

However, the con to me proved that the fandom will live on! We've all made such wonderful friendships and we will continue to love the story and continue to support Johnny and Marc in their careers. Never when I fell for a soap couple did I imagine I would meet such amazing people and I know the friendships made will go on and on

Morning

Just been reading some of the 'end of an era' posts As I saw some guys sweeping up the fallen leaves in the church nearby, I suddenly missed the fact that no one has done any web cam spots, cos obviously, there's been no filming Last year, I remember people spotting the leaves being taken off the trees for autumn filming A bit random, sorry

And as for EE post Chryed, I don't know. It depends how the Chryed story works out (if they bodge it, I won't feel like tuning in) and what else is going on. As others on here have said, at the minute things are not good. I'm afraid I don't like Lola as a character, so not interested in the Lexi stuff. The Brannings get pulled down by Derek and Carol for me (I know they will have fans) and I think the show suffers when you get actors taking long breaks every other year. I understand that actors want to spend time with their families, understandably, or just do other jobs, but it affects the cohesion of the show a bit. Can they not just have different contracts whereby they are more 'part time' (e.g. not required for pub appearances, just main s/ls???). For example, the character Janine had been used a ridiculous amount in the last few years, no wonder the actress wanted a break. Was that necessary, especially when other characters weren't doing anything. I guess it's hard running a big show like that, what do I know

Does anyone have a link to Dessie's "We're still here" vid, you know the one premiered at the con?

I can really do with watching it right now. and it'll provide me which a much needed laugh this morning.

This is very true.

I think it's wonderful that through this storyline bonds and friendships have been formed which will live on long after Chryed leave.

Chryed may be over in two weeks but the fandom will live on whether that's regular meet ups or in spirit.

Con weekend was a first for me to really get to know you guys and I look forward to panto in January but what ever happens next, the fandom will always continue to have a special place in my heart.

Oh crap the awkward moment where you remember two months after you book the date, that you're going to theatre tonight.

I guess that means I'll be missing Chryed tonight.

Telling my sister last minute that she's joining me for Soul Sister tonight should be fun, even if she is on hols.

Yay!! I LOVE this video!

Also great conversation happening this morning. Though talking about how little time we have left is probably going to end up making me cry!

It is a very emotional time for us all and their leaving episodes are going to be particularly hard.

However I think we've got to look at it from 'the glass is always half full' and the 'grass is always greener' perspective.

With Chryed gone, we get the following.....

No more ranting and criticism about the
• lack of screentime
• poor characterisation
• shoddy storytelling

We get our happy ending - which I'm convinced we'll get in spite of what we've endured these past two years.

We get them away from the square and therefore, without the prospect of unrepairable damage. Let's face it, Christian and Syed are not Kat and Alfie. Granted, things have been weak for them for two years now but they're not destroyed or irredeemable. I still do think that in spite of everything, Christian and Syed do truly love each other and with Pete writing those final episode, that is only going to be reinforced during their final scenes.

I also think we’re quite fortunate to get our couple together by the end of it because happy endings are so rare in soap these days. My only fear is not caring by the point them do (this is fully dependent on how they’re characterised and developed over the next fortnight).

I do think it will be ok and just how I look back on my Smallville Collection DVD boxsets, I still look back on that show with greatness despite season 9 and 10 being gobshite. Hopefully that will be the case for Chryed for pretty much all of us – the pros outweighing the cons. In the end our love and passion with the story that DTC gave us in 2009/10 will always be greater than our loathing what BK gave us in 2011/12. After all the original story is why we're still all here. Well some of us anyway.
