Pete said in his Q&A that he did for the Con that the script outline or whatever it's called said that Christian helped Amira make a picnic and gave her advice, but he (Pete) didn't think it worked and pitched his SBM/Amira channeling Christian idea and thankfully managed to convince TPTB to let him do it

I love this post. I was actually mulling over this earlier but was concerned I was entering wishful thinking territory...

Obvs this is EE and they don't like to spell out gay sex (numptie pandering) BUT Danny said to Christian it was 'much more' (which could men sex but even now I think was more about Syed wavering and connecting with Danny, it was there to taunt C), and with Syed he said you told him 'it was just a kiss' (ie. so it was more but not sex per se, why not say 'we had a one night stand'? or 'we spend the night?')...it's ambiguous.....and I can take a grubby fumble in the heat of the moment over sex ANY DAY.

I think when Syed said about Christian being the only guy he's properly been with, I think he meant that with all the other guys, it was just emotionless sex. whereas with Christian, it's not just sex, it's love and passion, real proper emotions.

Yeah, I found Danny and Syed hilarious too until last night Actually I still kind of do Soooo bad. It was like their scenes were written with a gun to someone's head they were so forced and unnatural.

I still can't get over the Iman calling Amira sexy as an attempt to get Syed to stay with her.

Thank god Yusef made a stand against that in the script and it was cut.

Sorry but look on the bright side, at least Syed doesn't have feelings for Danny! he's basically given him one of the biggest brush offs ever. Danny must be a seriously bad shag tbh :sleep:

No wow seriously there was no explicit reference to full on sex. I don't think Syed slept with him anymore.

It fits better in my head - both in terms of what we saw, and what I can accept. Syed lied and would hate himself for it but it's not a full out lie either, based on what he said at the wedding.

Oh crap, I keep forgetting that not everyone attended ChryedCon and that I didn't cover everything in my review.

Yusef, the guy I interviewed from Imaan had alot to say about EastEnders and their development of Christian and Syed over recent times. (Just so you know he was the person EE liaised with over the story, as part of their research)

While I was waiting for the writers interviews to finish, I was accompanying Yusef outside and we both shared a lot of opinions on how things had changed.

Anyway, he spoke about getting many of the scipts during the first year of the storyline from the producers.

The scene where Syed went to see the Iman at the park, the Iman was supposed to say something along the lines of "Stay with your wife, she's sexy" :sleep:

Anyway, Yusef told him that there was no way that was going to work as an Iman would never say that. Therefore it was taken out (thank god!)

Plus, Syed did say that Danny couldn't offered him so not full on sex but a 'fumble' like others have said with hands.

Hahahaha EE are rubbish.

Yusef said the last script he recieved was that scene with Syed and the Iman at the park.

After that, EastEnders cut contact with Imaan.

It's a shame really because I think they could have really benefited from thier ongoing involvement especially as the faith element with Syed has been lost these past two years.

I think it's made the story and Syed's character poorer and less 3D. It's meant to be a massive part of who he is and yet we've had practically no references to it apart from family celebrations. Just another hole. :sleep:

Yes EE would not spell it out cos it's 'ex home' (yawn) but even Christian called it a 'grubby fumble'.

I can't buy Syed going back to his place/to a hotel 2 days before the wedding. Having a grope outside the club in the heat of the moment? Yes.

Lol 'you couldn't afford me' clearly meant 'you couldn't pay me to sleep with you again, it was so terrible'.


Yeah, it's a shame. I wonder why EE stopped consulting them- because they'd avoided the backlash they thought they were going to get, maybe?
